Marrow on transfer portal additions

Banks just entered portal recently. Why is a guy this good wanting to leave?
Banks was a pre season all-american and a first round prospect. He had a rough year mainly due to injury and had a couple younger guys take hold of the starting spots. His only eligibility is to take a COVID year and with the goal of going Pro, wanting to start and I think Ohio state is tight on scholarships.

Something weird is likely going on behind the scenes as well since OSU didn't let him make the announcement. Ryan Day informed a bunch of reporters that Banks would not be returning before banks announced his decision. Just weird.

All in all he is 5* talent and probably worth any perceived risks.

You could ask that question of many, such as our own Dare Rosenthal and Jones, each of whom had starting rolls tied down at SEC schools.

I think for most, improving NFL stock is the key, and there could be lots of factors in favor of U.K. for that, including the NFL resumes of Marrow, White and Coen.

If UK pulls this off…..Those are the two roster weaknesses….you could legit be sec east contender

-We have to get a tackle to protect Levis. We can probably fill one tackle spot with Flax, Goodwin or maybe Buford…but as the spot Settles in…we need a proven piece at other spot

-CB is a nonbraier…Valentines could solidify at boundary spot but the field Cb is Dre Phillips and ??? And you can’t go into season with literal zero depth

That was the middle brother. Kentucky just offered the youngest brother, Dylan, who is an 8th grader a few days ago.
There were rumors he waited to see where his brother committed before deciding. It was a month or so ago, and I'm sure things have changed. The article made it seem like he wanted to play his last year with him.

Yes, that was the case at that time I think. He may still end up at UVA, but if he was waiting on little brother to decide, I'd think he would have announced for UVA by now. Kentucky could definitely use him.

Will Banks be another Bossman Fat? Play pretty darn well but quit before the end of the season to prep for NFL?

We could sure use both, based on what I've read about them. Really closes a couple of holes we have and pumps up my optimism even more for another 9+ win season.

Seemed to work out pretty well for both Joseph and Kentucky

Some fans strange bizarre vendetta against Kelvin Joseph for not playing in a 41-17 route against an awful South Carolina is so puzzling. If he were a quitter why'd he go out against top 5 opponents in Bama & Florida the 2 weeks prior?

Bossman a tremendous asset to the UK football program. Hope Banks comes here, leads SEC in INT, then he & the UK brand are high 2023 draft pick.

What is strange for not being in agreement with a dude who quit during the season?"

Everybody has their own thoughts about things and that is fine. I just think that a coach is good enough to want you on his team and agrees to pay for your education and play you if you are talented enough and you have teammates that rely on you and you on them to play well as a team then quitting on them early to me is not the right thing to do. They are looking out for themselves with no thought about who put them in that opportunity to succeed tremendously or their teammates that helped them succeed on the field. It is a small part in doing for the coach and his career and doing for your teammates in helping them to continue to succeed on the field.

I liked Baity and Lonnie Johnson’s senior years personally
Agree. We had this discussion a year ago as well. Joseph had the most physical potential but he was far from being the best ever. Baity and Johnson are the two best corners in the Stoops era. Give Joseph two more years under Stoops and he would have taken that role but not after just one.

Kelvin Joseph the best Corner we’ve had come stoops has been here by a wide margin. He’s also the highest drafted. We use his image and draft status to sell to future recruits. Some of you care a lot more about him opting out then his teammates do lol.
So if Levis wanted to say “screw it im good after Georgia loss” and he was higher rated and drafted then any other QB…would that be cool?

Im not bringing up Bossman , you sort of did that , but I offered an opinion when it happened and moved on jsut like he did. But people aren’t wrong for having an opinion that Quiting during season is a bad taste for soen

I don’t even disagree with that but some act like Bossmans time here was a negative when we benefited just as much as him. Not saying you are one of them

"during" GTFO

He & Stoops both mutually agreed he mentally & physically wasn't ready ir able to play 10th game after being one of the best players on the team and the SEC for 9 games.

If he were a quitter he's a pretty stupid one, seeing as he went out there with barely 40 teammates to play #1 Bama in Tuscaloosa, then #5 Florida in Gainesville.

Were do you find any quotes that they both mutually agreed to anything? If Stoops was so on board...why did he say in media we can't have a guy on sideline that isn't going to play under the circumstances given?

Look....I don't really give much thought to Bossman....both parties moved on. But stop with the fans "attacking kids" nonsense when some simply don't agree with all the opting out (or quitting as I'd call it). But I've asked this same question over so many times and I can't get one valid answer

"Would it be OK to quit after UK lost the Georgia game or Miss St games" At that point UK was essentially done with getting to SEC East title and playoff. So are we cool with dudes quitting with 4 games and a bowl left on the schedule?" When is it OK and not OK for kids to quit during a season is my question.
