KSR is reporting Fultz's mentor believes Arizona and Louisville lead and expects a decision soon after those visits. In the comments I also read a DC guy switched his CB pick to UL for him. Weird how quickly the tides have turned.

I'll give them some credit. If they land Fultz with VJ King as well as having Mitchell back next year, they would have some pretty good guard play.

If people are worried about Adidas then they better not want Alkins or Simmons either.

The change on 247 looks like the result of the mentor's comments. If Fultz is deadest on rejecting a visit to UK and pulls the trigger for Louisville, it's likely there's nothing our staff could have done to persuade him differently.

Seems Meyer was just a tad off on this one. o_O

Oh well- his position is loaded and we're in great shape.

Really don't want him to go to UL if we don't get him. He's just trying to ruin his career by doing that. Honestly he's good enough to be a first rounder as a freshman, even under Pitino. But somehow Pitino would convince him to stay 2/3 years and cost him a few million.

I hear he's ours to lose. I know UK wants him bad so you can never count you guys out but I think he's ours.

DC area ties with UL is related to Kenny Johnson-former Team Takeover guy who helped Crean get kids from DMV to Indiana. Now he's doing same for Louisville.

One thing I've noticed as a non UK fan who is on trail at events. When Robic is the guy who is at an event or tracking a kid in Summer, he's getting evaluated or isn't top target. Any truth to that/or am I just not giving him enough credit? Robic was at majority of Fultz games repping UK---while Payne and Barbee were watching the other guards. Wherever Payne is, that's guys I think UK covets most (other then Cal of course) and it's why the media members tweets mean little to me about where the HC are--more interested where top assistant is--as he's the one who does the grunt work and makes the initial contact/connections. Kids and parents love Kenny Payne.

You might get him, but you also believed Rick Pitino when he said that the current Louisville team had 8 future NBA players. Sort of invalidates your opinion, as it seems like you'd believe Rick if he told you their water boy was a future lottery pick.

Wants him bad? UK hasn't even pushed or asked for an official visit.

Which if true, I think is a mistake on our part. Kid seems to be legit, and I feel like it will be difficult to pull Monk away from his Arkansas ties, even with all the current turmoil going on over there. A little over a week ago people seemed to think that Simmons/Fultz were virtual locks for UK. Recruiting's weird. Selfishly, if we don't land him, I hope he doesn't end of of UofL. Kid would be a likely one and done at UK or Arizona, and we all know Pitino's track record with freshman.

people are freaking out over the wrong stuff with recruiting.

we are one power forward away from being an absurd team for 2016

Meyer's article.

Kentucky is the other prominent school in Fultz's recruitment. He unofficially visited Lexington this spring, and Williams told 247Sports that it is unlikely Fultz will officially visit Kentucky. As Williams put it, "Markelle knows what he needs to know about Kentucky."

For what it's worth, Meyer is still sticking with his UK pick, for the moment anyway. If rumblings are true, I just can't conceivably see why the staff would cool on Fultz, short of landing a commitment from Monk yesterday. (No, I'm not trying to say that they did.) Smith seems to be a virtual lock for NC State, and the board's consensus, as of yesterday at least, was that they seemed to slightly prefer Fultz over Atkins.

Honestly, I feel Fultz is being lead away from UK. That's just my thinking with no official visit being set and what's being said. However, I feel different about Monk. Most of his interviews and brother's interviews make me think we lead for Monk.

Louisville's already on the verge of overtaking Kentucky in Fultz's crystal ball. [sick] In all honesty, I expected some people to flip to Louisville or Arizona while he was on his visits. But the rumors of UK seemingly cooling on Fultz and him not even giving them an official visit are worrying.

I hope you're right, as it seems like Monk's also being steered towards Arkansas.

With the number of guards we are involved with, I'm certainly interested in UK honing in on a PF.

wow UK missing on adidas guys......... at some point people will start believing adidas does everything possible to keep their kids away from UK

It's fascinating to me. Adidas two biggest marketable NBA stars are John Wall and Derrick Rose. Cal played a big role in both of their reaches to Stardom, and the Kentucky effect certainly has not hurt. From a marketing standpoint, going to UK would build the players brand more than any Adidas school in the planet IMO.

I have no idea if UK has cooled on Fultz or if Fultz and his handler cooled on UK. Having no official visit schedule to UK is concerning.

I don't buy the Adidas crap entirely.
