Markelle Fultz

With the number of guards we are involved with, I'm certainly interested in UK honing in on a PF.
It's fascinating to me. Adidas two biggest marketable NBA stars are John Wall and Derrick Rose. Cal played a big role in both of their reaches to Stardom, and the Kentucky effect certainly has not hurt. From a marketing standpoint, going to UK would build the players brand more than any Adidas school in the planet IMO.

Since when did all the kid's seemingly start wearing Adidas anyway? Seems like every kid we're recruiting these days, someone chimes in with, "Oh, but Adidas!" Just a few years ago UofLol fans and the like were complaining to anyone that would listen that Nike was pushing the kids to UK.

I would recommend that Fultz and his crew consult Wayne Blackshear and his crew on how well his decision to go to UL turned out for him.

actually....i dont think we are involved with that many guards. mostly because we have our guy. need maybe 1 more but we have our main target. i'd bet on that.

I haven't seen any evidence of that.

Just going by current consensus that Arkansas seems to be the current favorite for him. Seems like as of late that we're always trying to pull away a kid from their home town school, their father's Alma mater, or if you listen to message board posters, a shoe company. Like there's always some outside factor steering kids away from UK these days. Yeah, they just had a kid drafted #1, and put 5 other kids in this years draft alone, but why would you wanna go there?

Could you whine anymore? If there are outside factors steering kids away from UK, how the hell do you think EVERYONE else in college basketball (besides Duke) feels?

Few things worse than Insecure UK Basketball Fan, especially these days.

His brother isn't pushing him there. I'm pretty sure Monk is a Nike kid.

Yes, on a board with the Cut-Net's, Zays, (Whoever the hell the guy who couldn't go one post without calling someone a "sunshine pumper" was) of the world, I'm the whiner. My sincerest apologies for considering every potential basis in a thread where people were discussing what could of gone down in a player's recruitment. If you'd read the thread, you'd notice that I wasn't even the first poster to point out the idea of shoe companies or kids being steered away from UK, but was merely discussing the possibilities. But by all means, feel free to dump the blame squarely in my lap. We're going to land Giles, Jackson, Smith, Fox, Monk, Fultz, Atkins, Simmons, Ayton, Bridges, and Jones. Happy now?

Would love to have him. Probably more than any other guy in the class we seem to have a realistic shot at. Sorry guys, I'm just a whiner, y'know?

With the debacle in Arkansas over the last few weeks, I can't imagine him and his family wanting to deal with the stigma of that. I seriously doubt he goes to Arkansas.

I've seen this a few time now, what happened at Arkansas that people are talking about?

people are freaking out over the wrong stuff with recruiting.

we are one power forward away from being an absurd team for 2016

Am I missing something? The only recruit we have is Tai Wynnard for that class right?! I was on vacation last weekend and not keeping up here or KSR, we didn't have any commits did we?

Jerry Meyer still thinks UK leads and it seems like he will still be "shocked" if he doesn't go to UK. Interesting...

As an above poster said, we DON'T want Fultz to end up at UL. Fultz, VJ King, Mitchell, and a junior Snider would be VERY VERY good. And as much as idiots on here want to believe that Pitino sucks as a coach, its simply not true. Id be concerned with what Pitino could do with the press, the new shot clock, and the guards I just mentioned above.

posters: "Pitino sucks, UL sucks," in 3…..2…….1…….
