markelle fultz uk next committ ???

imo he is and soon. followed by fox and bridges. what a haul in the early signing period.
Hard to read the tealeaves on him but two people I know think he commits to UK and it happens sooner than later. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if he did it during Elite 24 on EspnU.

I'm doubtful.

UK needs frontcourt players for next year. There aren't a ton of good options in the 2016 class, and even with SKJ, UK can still easily sign someone else without really creating that much of a logjam.

At 2 guard, there are a ton of options, UK already has guys on the roster likely to be back next year, and UK has been on Malik Monk forever (and unlike someone like Harry Giles, most people think UK has a damn good chance of getting him). Maybe Cal isn't willing to wait for Monk, but traditionally, he has waited on guys of a certain caliber. UK might be able to get Fultz and Monk, but I can't see it, and because of that, and because there are other options even beyond those 2, I'm not sure UK wants an immediate Fultz commitment. But I could be wrong.

I thought Murray was going to Oregon?
Give it a rest. He was wrong on Murray so was 95% of people.

He has been right more than wrong and I appreciate when he posts info. If you don't then don't click on his threads. Better yet go play out in the street.

I have loved fultz from the moment I first watched him.
I have not seen doc so I don't know who is better, but I couldn't stop thinking of Dangelo Russell both times I watched fultz. And Russell was my fav non UK player in college last year.
Man I hope you are right.

it would seem it is pretty much assumed by most that Fox , Bridges and SKJ would be early commits along with one of Alkins or Fultz and I hope it is fultz as he is just a better player IMO . Monk seems UK bound but he won't commit til the spring and losing Ulis , Briscoe , Murray at the guards we have plenty of room for 3 guards in this class since Matthews and Mulder can and will play the 3.

Not so sure Ulis leaves after this year.

I love Fultz and have for a long time, but I think Alkins is better and has more upside.

I like him too. Still very young and will only improve. Smooth. Versatile. Can play three positions.

I really like Fultz and Monk, but I am still on the Alkins train. Will obviously take any of the 3 and be ecstatic, though.

Fultz not a good % shooter is he? i know his 3 point % is way low. give me Fox, Monk and Alkins and call it a day.

What is Fultz shooting skill level? Is he much of a shooter at all? Seems like EVERY video I have seen on his is 99% attacking the rim. Would love to see his mechanics and form. I'm all for having guards that can get to the rim but I think you must be able to shoot the ball at a pretty decent level to keep the defense honest and not allow them to single drop off and pack the paint. I'll take a lesser athlete who can shoot lights out than an uber athlete that can't hit the broad side of the barn. JMO though.

Agree.

We need Fox, Monk, and Bridges. Those three would be great together.

After that I would take Fultz, Alkins, or Gabriel to fill out the perimeter.

G Fox
G Monk
G/F Fultz or Alkins or Gabriel
F Bridges
F Killeya-Jones

Then wait and see if Ayton reclassifes and if not call it good.

With Mulder, Matthews, Wynyard, and Humphries coming off the bench we would be good to go. Plenty of depth and plenty of size off the bench.

I would love to land Fox , Bridges & Monk my self. I think Cal is going to bring in a special group like he said.

To me, Bridges is an absolutely crucial piece in this class because he has the ability to duck down low and really bang/rebound. Would give UK a versatile guy in that regard in a year where we very well may need it.

Seems like Fultz is a slasher with some playmaking ability. Potential as a lead guard type. Like the combination of Fox and Monk quite a bit, though.

I'm doubtful too. Calipari covets Monk, and I think Monk is Kentucky bound. The commitment by Killeya-Jones clears up 1 question, as it will be him in our class and not Gabriel. The class looks like Wynyard, Killeya-Jones, Bridges, Monk, Fox, plus another big.

**Wow! I don't know too many who think that UK has much of a chance w/ H. Giles.....Duke or even Wake seem to be the Top 2 with him.

I think we need a big wing more than another post player.

Killeya-Jones, Humphries, and Wynyard gives us enough bigs.

I would rather have Bridges or Gabriel playing the 4. Or better yet, give me both, one at the 3 and one at the 4. Space the floor and run the DDMO with SKJ at the 5.

So you think it takes us out of the running with Gabriel? Just curious.

No, UK is the only one with a shot outside of Duke. That is pretty well known for a while.

i'd like to get miles bridges on board in the fall if possible. the PG/SG situation will work itself out. we need an elite SF.

You could not be more right. Bridges is the biggest (most realistic) prize IMO. We need that MKG, Stanley Johnson, Justice Winslow type SF. You know we'll get good guards, we ALWAYS do.

And for the lurkers, no, we don't think we'll get Giles. Dukie all the way. He's coming to BBM for a good time.
