* Texas is a very good team from top to bottom, a complete team. Coach Sark has really been recruiting at a high level the last four years. Good players out of the HS ranks and the portal.

* Players were in good spirits today as they got to work on Texas. Really good practice. Nice to be outside in the beautiful weather this time of year.

* Pleased with the progress of their young players who got a chance to go out and show what they could do last Saturday. They are coming along. Loved what we saw from Cutter Boley. We think it confirmed what we thought all along, that we have a special football player.

* Brock Vandagriff has shown he can go into a hostile environment and give us a chance to win like he did at Ole Miss and Tennessee.

* When told it's his 4th chance to beat a Top 10 team, Stoops scoffs and says "Only four?" Feels like more. Jokes that some teams don't seem to play any. Leach jokes that Texas only seats slightly over 100,000, the 4th largest stadium in the league. Stoops laughs.

* As good as Texas is, this is one of those games that you just have to win your fair share of 1-on-1s if you want to win. Capable of doing that. We've shown it before.

* Expects to have JJ Weaver and Deone Walker back close to 100% this week.

* Texter asks how Godfrey and Brown performed at LB this past week... Good. Nice to get them some reps. Grant is a big guy with some size. Did a nice job. His dad was a good player at UGA and the NFL. Looks like he could still play.

* Really happy that Josaih Hayes could come back to end the season. Gives us two really big, strong NTs with him and Silver.

* Texter asks how they get back to the Big Blue Wall status... Have to bring along the young guys we like right now, have to recruit more talent at that position, and we have to find some help in the portal. "That's an area that I have to do a better job in." Says its expensive to get OL in the portal these days, but he's got to go raise the money and do it.

* Thought a lot about the QB situation going to Texas, but BVG has been playing well and doesn't think it would be an ideal situation for Boley to make his first start in that environment against Texas.

* Stoops praises Chris Collins for the job he's done with the CBs and the leaps he's taken as both a CB coach and co-DC. Thinks he's a really good young coach. Being a DB coach under me is a hard job. I like to see it done right. I have a passion for it and like to think I have a good eye for it.
