Hello HOB. Good Monday morning to y'all. Running a bit behind today, but should have everything in place for Mark Stoops' weekly presser today as he reviews the South Carolina game and previews the Cats' matchup with Mississippi State. Should be under way soon...

MARK STOOPS Q&A:

* Looking forward to getting back on the field and getting that game out of their system. When you lose like that, there's only one thing to do, get back to work. Stoops made a effort to apologize to the fans for not delivering on Saturday when they really showed up strong ready to do their part.

* Tough to play when you lose one of the best players in college football, but just like he thought after Saturday's game, so many other people did not play up to their standard on Saturday to support Sheron.

* No surprise that Mississippi State is ranked in the Top 25. Playing really good football in all aspects. Will Rogers playing QB at an extremely high level.

* QB Will Levis remains a day-to-day situation, Stoops said.

* Sheron made some really good throws, Stoops said. Had some poor decisions on where his eyes were that led to a few bad plays, sacks that weren't on the O-Line. Same thing happens with Levis at times, he added. "But, as a group, we didn't play well around him."

* On ILB Jacquez Jones... No update, no timeline.

* No excuse for the TD on the screen play. Bad fit, in the wrong place. Should have been blown up. Just really poor defense in the second half.

* Still likes Deuce Hogan, Kaiya just did some things well to move past him since camp.

* Was C-Rod underutilized in the second half? Stoops said they didn't string together enough plays. Said he thinks they gave it to him 4x out of 9 plays, had some penalties in there, just threw things off. Didn't help that your D gave up two long drives and South Carolina had the ball for a long time.

* Asked about tempo and Mississippi State, Stoops said it's not quite like playing Ole Miss or Tennessee in that regard. Can play fast but not quite those other two mentioned like to play.

* Missed tackles, YAC, were problems last year in loss to MSU. Can't have that this year.

* Bulldogs create a lot of havoc on defense. Thinks they have scored 33 points off turnovers this year. Their alignments allow them to bring a lot of havoc in different ways.

* Impressed with the way QB Destin Wade is developing. Really improving since he got here. Have some stuff in place to utilize him but haven't had that opportunity yet.

* Stoops says they've been in this spot before. Only way to get back on track is to get back to work, and everybody has to have accontability. This is kind of a new level of pressure for some of the young guys, though. They have to help coach them through it.

* Injuries are part of the game, and every team will have them, Stoops said. Saw some other SEC teams play without their QB last week.
