Spoke with someone who has a little knowledge of Mark Smith and Michigan State's recruitment. He visited this weekend as T.J. has said. The Spartans were thought to be in a very strong position and they may still be, but the sentiment around Michigan State is that things don't look quite as good as they seemed to earlier in the day. That could just be a vibe or tea leaf reading on their part, but a well-connected Michigan State person told me that they are not as confident about Smith-to-MSU as they were earlier, even as recently as Sunday morning. That person also conceded that the longer it drags on, the worse it is for Michigan State.
UPDATED: Got a message overnight that said Smith's visit to Michigan State "seems like it went really, really well." Michigan State's coaches have been hoping to lock Smith down on the visit and get him to shut recruiting down and make a decision for obvious reasons. Apparently as of late last night those close to Smith were telling people that they did not know when he would be making a decision yet. That doesn't mean that MSU isn't the favorite. They may well be and the person who sent me the follow up message said they did still have a "gut feeling" that MSU was the favorite after the visit. But as T.J. has said as well, this person reinforced (for a second time) that if Smith doesn't announce very soon, on the heels of this visit, it could take the wind out of their sails quickly and be a good sign for UK.
In short, if he doesn't commit today or tomorrow, it's probably good news for Kentucky, so this person says.
