Getting beat by Tubby Smith's team in an empty arena. How depressing.

There are players all over the country playing for mediocre teams in half empty arenas. Newman is just 1 of many. Too bad for him, but not for us. If Newman had signed with Kentucky, I doubt Calipari would have gone after Jamal Murray. I take Murray over Newman any day of the week. Murray is a better player, and a winner. Things have a way of working out for the best.

He looks pretty good to me. Just tied the game with a 3 point play. 15 points 5 rebounds with 7:39 to play.

Unquestionably worked out better for us because we got Murray, but Newman is still going to be a really good player.

He is really good. That is why Cal wanted him. But things works out for reasons, and I am really glad that things worked out as they did. With Tyler back, I think that Briscoe and Murray are going to fit a whole lot better than Newman would have. Tough for Newman though, playing in front of 2000 people, at home. Oh well, these kids need to realize that decisions they make need to take care of them, and not home state fans. Malik Monk figured it out, Malik Newman didn't.

He's a freshman on a pretty bad team. Talented kid. Gonna be tough because of very little help around him.
