Maker to HOWARD

Kinda glad we're going to get this HBCU experiment out of the way now, with a recruit we werent going to get. Maker will likely slide down the draft due to zero exposure and competition.

Another embarrassing thread of a bunch of snowflake white men getting triggered over something that won’t effect them in any possible way?

Check.

Please continue embarrassing the UK fanbase though.

How dare you assume my skin tone you c@nt. I’m brown

Makes sense, commit to Howard- a school with no basketball tradition and a head coach with no experience OVER UK and John Calipari- a HC that probably (definitely) has done more for and cares more about his players than any other coach in the history of CBB.

No bitter...don't really care, just makes zero sense.

Good luck to the kid,We as a fan base have to accept the fact that the idea of winning an NCAA championship is secondary in these kids minds.Nothing wrong with that, sadly, just the sign of the times.
I would even take it a step further, I think winning in general doesn't really matter to kids much anymore. This kid will probably be on TV once or twice this year, if he's lucky. I mean, he isn't doing himself any favors with his exposure with this move. Not to mention the fact that he will be playing against terrible competition not really making him any better. The G League would have been the better move here. Just don't get what is going on in kids minds nowadays.

Hey! Outside of Kentucky, the only other team I root for is my alma mater!. HUGE get for the Bison although I still don't think he touches the court. If anything, it puts our name out there.

Big get for you guys. Congratulations.
Beat Hampton (or whoever the hell you said).

The dude is 7 feet tall and wants to play the 3. Rarely steps inside the 3 point line. Would never have worked here.

He might actually HURT his stock. College players are still college players: more experienced, bigger, faster, and playing cohesive basketball. Maker now needs to have an explosive year to get drafted.. im thinking 20 and 12. If he goes 14 and 7, I dont think that will be enough.

Im starting to think that the transition into college is harder than we believed. If you're not one of those top10 game-changing recruits, its going to be an adjustment.

I think this is a risky move.

Another embarrassing post by someone that's angry about what people talk about on a f&*%!g chat board. Can you really not see that your post is equally as angry and as stupid as the other posts you're ridiculing?

Howard is 90% African American enrollment and 1% white. UK is 75% white and 8% African American.

UK is a more diverse University statistically and a better University by the numbers.

Forgetting that we have a Coach that embraces families and diversity like no other.

It is his decision, so good luck to him.

This isn’t exactly using them to get to the NBA. If anything it hurts his chances to make the NBA than it helps considering his NBA draft stock isn’t in the lottery or even the first round right now .

While we believe that, it doesnt mean that's his line of thinking. His camp knows he will be the most talented player in that league. This isnt just about making a statement.. at least I dont think so.

Yeah but it’s definitely a lot tougher when you go to a smaller school because people will point out the teams he’s facing . Now if they somehow make the tournament and he does great then that will help him.

But this is definitely more of a risk and I don’t think he’s trying to take advantage of lesser black athletes with the move

Mikey Williams almost HAS to now.. he'll receive a ton of backlash if he ends up picking Michigan or something.
I have been saying the same thing . He has multiple tweets like this. Maybe they allow them to go pro by the time he’s a senior but if not what he’s doing is kind of risky because if he doesn’t choose a HBCU school people will think he did all of this for attention .

Lol the headline writes itself with him picking a HBCU. Of course some soft sjw would go crying if I said it.

Like Bill said, I don’t get this desire by a lot of black people today, particularly young, to go back to segregation. Hell I’ve seen a bunch of it on twitter where people say they wish it had never ended or that they could go back to being segregated. Maker isn’t talented enough to overcome going to a school like Howard. His stock will drop like a rock.
Lol . . . why does it not get deleted when a black person tweets in favor of segregation?

Guys, I haven't read this whole post, but I want to ask a really stupid question. Do we know this is real? So many hoaxes out there. Or is he just yanking our chains - will wind up going somewhere else? I know we live in a crazy world but this doesn't make any sense for him, his handlers, family, etc. I am serious - I have no idea

Howard was 4-29 overall last year and finished 1-15, dead last in the MEAC. Hasn’t been to the NCAA Tournament since 1992 and won’t be going next year either. But hey, to each his own.

Wouldn't surprise me if money was funneled from a "charity" to his handler to make this happen. Makes no sense to risk your future like this unless you are already gaining something financially. It would be different if 3 or 4 high level recruits went to the same school with him in the name of change but it's just him. The NCAA wouldn't even be able to investigate it or they will be worried about backlash like everyone else that doesn't comply with the "movement".

Have to disagree the NBA will find you regardless of where you go to school if you can play.Imo the big downside is that he will not build a brand by choosing Howard rather than UK.This could initially cost him major endorsement money

So HBCU’s allow whites to attend though it’s a small % . Do they allow whites on the basketball team?

But you only have one year to showcase to the NBA.. and saying "The NBA will find you" kind of makes the assumption that the NBA never makes a miscalculation when drafting.. but they do all the time.

Maker could average 14 and 7 at Kentucky and still, feasibly, get drafted in the lottery.. but those numbers won't work at a HBCU (or any small school, regardless of the demographics).

I never liked the idea that recruits HAVE to pick an elite school. Arizona St or Miami is just fine. But when recruits start putting themselves in lesser leagues, with no chance at a tournament in March, you really begin to limit yourself.

Good luck to him and I honestly hope he actually plays there . But I sorta doubt he ever plays college period. UK hasn't really been an option since Sarr committed as he isn't better then Jackson and Sarr is light year's better as well. But this is a cool move for him to make IF he really makes it . Just committing and never showing up though accomplishes nothing .

Troll elsewhere, my troll. Nothing to defend. You and I will never agree. We've been down this road with your other accounts. You're one of those that want further division in this country. Got that?
Sure we could if you would learn to actually explain your arguments and reasoning. You get questioned, become defensive and roll into the fetal position. Got that?

What accounts? What division?

Maker isn’t talented enough to overcome going to a school like Howard.

Nonsense. If he's good enough, it won't matter. ESPECIALLY in this one and done age when college only means the place where he'll spend a few months before entering the draft.

You know, David Robinson went to Navy, Pippen to a Division 2 school, Rodman to an NAIA school, Damian Lillard to Weber St., and well, there's SO many other examples that I could not even begin to list them all.

It's well proven that players who went to nowhere schools not only make the NBA, but can even become All Stars and Hall of Famers. If this kid wants to spend his OAD season at an HBCU, that's fine by my. Good luck to him.
