Only having 8% African Americans is not something to brag about.

Well it’s certainly not something to chastise either.

They’re not being rejected. Some of you are completely delusional and ate up and you have no idea how college admissions work. You really are a special one aren’t you.

I am plenty aware of how college admissions work. If you only have 8% African Americans it’s because your school largely doesn’t appeal to them and/or it costs too much.

1% of Howard students are white.

Not everything is about race....specifically black/white.

25% of UK's students are non-white. That about matches US population and UK is ranked as above average diversity for US universities in a predominantly white state.

Again, you have zero argument. I am proud of UK's diversity. Made life long friends there and I learned a ton about different cultures at UK and that was 18 years ago.

That’s nonsense. The state of Kentucky is vastly whiter in population. There aren’t many in state Black Kentuckians to begin with. What do you mean cost too much? Are you using a blanket statement and, like VP Biden, assuming all Blacks in Kentucky are just poor?

Your logic is flawed and you have no idea how any of this works. You’ve bought into identify politics and can’t think your way through it. Good day.

An African-American median household income is only $58,985 compared to $89,632 for white households. There’s a reason why expensive universities that don’t provide a ton of non-loan financial aid generally have tiny African-American populations.

Howard costs $25K per year + and is a private school. In state tuition at UK is $12K.

Your median incomes are totally out of whack as well. Not only are they inaccurate for US but they are not focused on state of KY.

You really need to not debate these issues until you understand what you’re talking about. You’re so far off I don’t know where to begin.

Like I said, your inability to understand the demographics of the state, how it applies to college admissions, and now this......

Quit digging a hole you look foolish.

no offense to anyone that lives for this, but threads like these make me appreciate being willfully ignorant on recruiting. I could only in vague terms tell you who we are recruiting. In the past few minutes I've learned more about Makur ? than I need to know and there is zero emotional attachment to any decision he makes. No idea why he chose Howard and don't care. I won't be reading his twitter or waiting to see what Williams (another named I learned from this thread) is doing. I'll pay attention at Big Blue Madness to the names. I might learn half of 'em by Xmas, won't matter, because 6 of 'em will be gone in May.

Its quite liberating actually. Its a long cry from my anguished days of hearing Darius Rice to Miami.
