I'm not seeing Tennessee as a #1. The only non-conference win over a ranked opponent was Baylor in Knoxville. They did beat Illinois, but they are no longer ranked. They're only 6-4 in SEC, and have two terrible losses to Florida by 30, and at home to a severely undermanned UK.If we go 3-6 like Kenpom seems to think we will, we are going to be sitting near that 8-10 seed line unless we get smoking hot in the SEC tournament.
A lot of the bracket matrix guys still have us as a 4 as well. And they go by where you are today.I'm not seeing Tennessee as a #1. As I understand it, Lunardi bases his projections on how teams will finish the season, not where they are at the moment. So he is likely projecting UK to finish somewhere around 9-9 and still be a 4-seed.
I hope all of that plays out and honestly, I’ll be ecstatic about 9-9 in the SEC with our injuries and play lately. We need to get healthy and figure out how to be better on the defensive end of the floor or we are going to see a quick ending to our season.I'm not seeing Tennessee as a #1.
