Of those 1 seeds, I think Purdue is the one we match up best with. Just play up-tempo, wear Edey out and hopefully get him in foul trouble, and go with the hot hand at the 5-spot, rotating as needed. Still a tall order (pun intended).
It would help immensely if Z could start making some 3s again. Could be effective pulling Edey out of the paint and Wagner/Dilly/Theiro/Edwards would have a field day taking it to the rim . But Edey would DOMINATE all 4 of our bigs inside. Hack a shaq would probably be our most effective defense on him . And sprinting to the offensive end could wear him out while our bigs are splitting the minutes .
Good news is one of those 3 seeds at least will lose in the Big 12 tourney (hopefully Baylor and KU both bow out early). If Marquette still has Kolek out for a bit, they seem ripe to lose more. And hopefully Creighton goes down too. We have a path to a 3 seed if we can beat UT or at least make a great run in the SECT.
I’d sign a contract for this immediately. I’d prefer this over a 2/3 with other teams at the top of the bracket.
Marquette is going to get a pass for Kolek being out. No chance we get any such leniency for playing with none of our 7 footers playing first several games, Wagner being out for a bit, Mitchell being out, etc.
East can't be the easiest with UConn as the #1 there. I want to be in any region that doesn't involve them.
I'm factoring in the possibility of them losing in their bracket. I'm not afraid of UNC, Kansas or Auburn.
Give me anyone but Tennessee. I can’t take it, if they end up winning a title their fans will be the worst we’ve ever seen as far as “we’re here now” bullshit talk. I’m already having people tell me “it’s a different era” and Kentucky won’t lock it up like they used to. And they haven’t even made a final four in history.
It’s what really pisses me off about this whole thing. Calipari is playing draft games and losing position and it’s not because it’s a different era. It’s because winning a title isn’t number 1 on the priority list.
I just explain that Kentucky will end up doing what we always do, hiring the right guy that utilizes our resources and its lights out, again. We just happen to be in a rare situation right now with a coach, at Kentucky, who doesn’t put winning first. That will never happen again so the rest of these bums might want to enjoy it.

Think it's promising Lunardi has us listed as #13... just on the cusp of that 3-seed line. I truly think if we beat Tennessee on Saturday, and then simply get to Saturday of the SEC Tournament... I think we'll be a 3.
Gotta include Duke in here as well. I pull as hard for Duke to lose in the NCAAT as I do anyone else. Unless they're in our region, I always root for the higher seeds in their region to advance just because I don't want them to get a cakewalk.

You have to know that this is BS. You seriously , do not think Cal wants to win? Why is it a negative that he wants his players to succeed. He uses the media to talk to recruits and players and the message is, I care about you first. If you dont think Cals ego would allow him to not care about games, then, I see why you want another coach. I think he would crawl through fire ants, in the nude, for another NCAA trophy.
Pretty sickening that UT basketball is now the sec gold standard. Seemed like cal really declined when Rick Barnes came into the conference

I'm not interested in a debate of "what makes a blue blood". The bracket makers and seeding committee aren't, either. You can win the games or you can't.
Duke a 2 JFC they have 2 bad losses and we have 1 if we won Florida and either LSU or Gonzaga this means we would been right there for a 2 seed.

It’s a joke how much the ACC being crap isn’t held against UNC or Duke like it was against us back when it was us and Florida. The mountain west was substantial better then the ACC this year….let that sink in.

2018 2024 and won the SECT in 22. The last 4 years they have gone into the tournament seeded high or advanced further we are certainly not the gold standard UT is the closest. And this season? Don’t be surprised if they make a final four or even win it all. Keep polishing the turd
I think I would use our bigs to front Edey. Make their guards throw a perfect pass over our 7’0 string beans. Sure he will score on the ones they get to him, but I don’t see our guys stopping him otherwise.

They just need on the sec this season. Barnes has UT 10-9 vs cal since he took over. You think there is another SEC team with a winning record over UK in that time? The answer is hell no so UT is the gold standard. They are better in the last several years than standard bearer UK SEC championships or not. 2018, 24 22 sect win. How many we have in that time?

Hoops HD did their bracket reveal show last night they had Kentucky #15 overall and playing Washington State in the 4/5 game in Spokane. That would suck. Also would be in UCONN region that also would suck. UCONN is the 1 region I want to avoid. If anyone cares to watch the show.
