Just curious does anyone know what Pope’s best seed was at BYU? I’m curious with being at BYU he got the shaft and always played a higher seed in round 1 of the NCAA? To explain him never won a game?

A conference getting two 1s, two 2s, and two 3s would be BY FAR the most impressive seeding any conference has ever gotten in the tourney’s history.

Kinda weird how the exact same year when SEC football took a bit fat humbling and step down is when SEC hoops took an unprecedented step up. Almost like the sports gods knew things needed to be balanced out.

He had two 6 seeds and lost to 11s.

To be fair, 11 seer ucla made the final four n 2021 and almost beat undefeated Gonzaga in said final four.

He was a 6 seed who lost to an 11 seed both times he made the tournament.

The graphic looks to me like he is still ranking Texas A&M above Kentucky.

Can ANYONE with half a brain please explain the logic there?

Lunardi doesn’t defend relative rankings. He only claims to correctly predict who gets in

He was a 6 seed last season and lost to a 12 loss Duquesne team who played 1 game against a ranked team and finished 6th in the A-10.

I was in Pittsburgh for the Oakland game and the whole city was buzzing about Duquesne winning a tournament game. It was their first tourney win since 1969.

I agree with all this. I just think the key factor might be health. We are missing Robinson. Whereas Wade Taylor did not play in their loss in Rupp and has been back and contributing since then (although, of course, their slump happened with him in the lineup too).

The SEC tournament will literally be harder than the NCAA tournament.

Kentucky will play Georgia--a tournament team.
Alabama--a 2 seed (potential 1 seed even)
Florida--a 1 seed
Auburn or Tennessee--a potential 1 seed (I would assume a UT win over Auburn gets them back to the 1 line).

The last 3 rounds will basically be like watching the Elite 8/Final 4.

With having 8 wins over Top-15 teams which is more than any other team in the country & is tied for the most Top-15 wins in the history of college basketball for a single season. Then if we win the conference tournament. that would probably mean that we would get 2 more Top-15 wins for a total of 10 for the season an all time record. How could we not get a 2 Seed

My question for the day: do we want the worst 2-seed or the best/2nd best 3-seed? Just thinking about seeding locations and wondering if althea last 2-seed might mean playing out west, and if the best 3-seed might mean playing in a more preferential region (Midwest or south).

We know that the SEC is going to likely take 3 #1 seeds, Duke has the other. Does Duke take Atlanta, and the other 3 SEC go east/west/Midwest? Do they give Duke the eastm

SEC won’t get more than two #1 seeds, Duke and Houston take the other two

A&M 16-9 quad 1 and 2
UK 11-10 quad 1 and 2
There's your answer. Palm has them a 2, us as a 4 updated today.

2 things about that bracket. They will never put u conn as an eight seed with duke and St. John vs. Louisville would be glorious 😊
They know UConn won't do crap in this tournament. They would have to get them in a ratings favorable match-up before they are sent packing. So, I could see it.

Hopefully the committee looks at Q1 games, since we are close. 10-9 in Q1 trumps 8-7.

Not sure what their Q1A record is, but I think we are 7-7 or 8-7 in Q1A games.

We have played in as many Q1A games as A&M has in just plain Q1 games.

The “bracket gurus” tend to want to throw Q1 and 2 games together, which hurts us because we have only played 2 Quad 2 games. It inflates other teams records, when they do that.

It sounds better to say A&M has played more Q1 and 2 games than we have. But when you look at us playing more Q1 games, it weakens the argument.

Hopefully, the SC can discern between Q1 and Q2 games.

They also lost to us and Alabama without Taylor. Not sure if they will take that into account either when seeding.
