10s of thousands of years ago, there were these things available:
animals
leafy veggies
fruits - in non-tropical climates, only available/edible before winter...perfect to help store a little fat before the long winter
seeds/nuts
some tubers
the exact DNA makeup of these things isn't really the point. It's what wasn't in the diet that is the point. of course, there were geographical differences in diets.
Basically, and I suspect we'll agree on this point....it's really all about controlling your blood sugar. The original thread was about low carbs. Carbs are what spikes insulin, although an abundance of protein can do the same thing. Keep your body sensitive to insulin, and you'll more than likely stay healthy for longer.
