?!! Classy program?! You serious.

Before Crum came, most Uk fans would cheer for Uofl. My dad and his friends, all UK fans, would go watch them all the time.

Crum is the one, when he came, to try and make it a "black/white" school thing. He got them on probation twice and nearly gave them the death penalty.

Naw, don't let the "aw shucks" grandpa routine he has now fool ya.
Well like I said, I was very young when he coached. And the back door dealings of NCAA athletics doesn't exactly appeal to the mind of a 10 year old.

My only interaction with him was when I got to be a ball boy for a U of L game. After the game I took the ball my parents bought for me and asked the lady outside their lockerroom if a couple guys on the team could sign it.

She said she would ask the coach and let me know. She came back out and handed me the ball. All of the coaches (including Crum) signed it and all of the players too. She said she told the coach a little boy wanted the ball signed by a few players and that he made the whole team sign it. I didn't like U of L the way I love(d) UK but he still went out of his way, interrupted his post game lockerrroom, to make my day.

I don't know the things he did that were bad. But I'm sure it's nothing akin to soliciting sex to underage minors. There's cheating the rules set by the NCAA, which is bad, but cheating the rules of basic human morality is way worse.

Homestly, he's the reason they all hate Uofl today. Most of them read this board, but dont post or anything, but I'll see if they have stories.

But the good majority of UK fans didn't hate Uofl or anything before Crum. Like I said: they'd go to games, cheer them on, etc

This explanation is the way my parents are. Both are UK grads from Louisville metro. My diehard UK fan mom even said she considered herself a UL fan (but still less than UK) in the 60s before Denny got there.

My folks hated that man with a passion because, according to them, he tried to paint UK negatively to get us to play them when the Cards had everything to gain while the Cats had everything to lose. I'm only 37, which means I was a small child from 80-86 and UK spent my teen years kicking his ass regularly, so I don't hate him as much as my parents. The only coach they hated more than Crum was Knight.

I've heard that from so many people.

Always nice to hear others saw this as well.

If they still have a PR firm working for them, that'd be a friggin' miracle.

Ha, the cheaters probably got tired if Grif putting his handicap parking sign on his mirror at winatallcost games.

If I was Crum and Griffith I would be embarrassed to be associated with that bunch. They have basically taken the legacy that Crum has built and turned it into a laughing-stock. They are nothing more than a bunch of low lives and idiots that will do anything it takes to get ahead.
I agree with you except the legacy Crum built was by cheating as well, that's why I get a laugh out of idiots like Zipp that think UL is on some moral plane above UK when in reality UK's violations were no where near the corruption and sickness that UL built their foundation on.

Why do I get the feeling that Denny & Darrel were embarrassed by the way the program was being ran, let Rick or Jurich know about it and that didn't sit to well with current organized crime unit/athletics administration at Louisville? Sounds vindictive to me. Perhaps a new book is coming out.
Nah,they just overthrew Crum's cartel and built the Jurich-Pitino Cartel, though the latter committed more heinous, disgusting, and whatever the adjective the Infractions Committee used to describe UL and their tactics

It would be hard to imagine doing this to a guy that has won championships while coaching at your school and to another guy who played at the school and was one of the best in school history. These guys actually helped by winning legit titles and should probably get more respect than UL is showing them. How about keeping the coach that was around during Hooker Gate from the school and not pay him millons of dollars to walk your sidelines. I never liked Crum much, but i doubt with him coaching at UL the fans never had to worry about silly hooker trouble that costs the school hard earned national championships.
