Losing Kennard, not only got us Murray, but likely kept him from going to Duke

Saying you grew up a UK fan and going to dUKe is heresy around here. I don't believe he was that big of a UK fan. If you say for argument's sake that all things are equal between UK and dUKe, and "you say" you were a UK fan growing up, then how do you not accept their offer to go there. It's not like Cal was struggling to have good teams or create NBA opportunities for his players.

I think the being a UK fan thing was blown a little out of proportion. I think it was more of his family being die hard fans and him being a UK fan, but not die hard. It came down to this, he thought it was the right fit for him. I know someone as close to the situation as possible and when I talked to him on the phone months before the commitment, I had the feeling it was going to be Duke...it just seemed a better fit. As simple as that.
At the end of the day, the only guy we missed on that I would have liked to have gotten was Zimmerman. I think Zimm was Skal-light and would have been a two year guy who would have been a really good player for us as a sophomore.
The other bigs we missed on would have just taken minutes from Lee and Wynyard, and I seriously think Murray fills a need for us more than Brown and is every bit as good as Newman. Plus Brown just seems kind of flaky.

He felt Duke was the best fit for him. I do not see anyone upset that most of our recent players grew up liking other teams...?
You're allowed to think whatever you want, just as other people are allowed to say that is extremely petty and just reflects negatively on you.

No i was just making a point that Duke and UK are only equal on winning and Duke lacks draft picks but is coming on.
Duke has a different system that certain guys excel in, and perhaps some were correct in guessing that Cal would over recruit him...?
Who knows, that doesn't mean he was a closet Duke fan and was just spouting about liking UK as a kid growing up for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Well it aint wrong to point that out brother . They've had plenty of themWhite shooters. Although, in my opinion I think Kennard is more athletic than Singler, Wojo, Sheyer, Paulus, Dunleavy, Reddick and the other ivory floppers.

Wow! Talk about "Jilted Lover Syndrome"! Kennard chose Duke. Get over it. There is no bigger UK fan than me, and I was crushed by his decision because I've know him and his family for decades.However, he's a Dukie now. He will be successful there, and would be anywhere he would have gone. I don't believe the kid is a 4 year collegiate player, and I believe he will play in the NBA one day. I also believe he is the best shooter in the class of 2015. Hoping for his failure is a waste of time! He's a great kid and deserves success.
I also want to point out that the kid was a big UK fan growing up. I remember seeing him in Patrick Sparks jerseys when he was younger and wearing UK gear all the time. I could post a pic of him in a UK hat, but I won't. He simply picked Duke because he was swept off his feet by Coach K. It's that simple!

1. Yes, we know, most great athletes, especially in basketball or black, not white.
2. Just because someone is white doesn't mean they can't play.

Yes. Duke has got a great med school. I mean, since we're sticking close to reality, why not go whole hog?

I've already apologized for offending you by discouraging a Duke player. I told you I'm sure you're right and Kennard will be fantastic and win big at Duke and then move on to take a top draft spot. Now for everyone else, I hope the Duke snob bricks everything and misses every single tournament at Duke thus impacting his NBA career if it should indeed go that far.
