Just my opinion, but I think if we had got Kennard, Murray would still have reclassified and gone to Duke. I like how it worked out myself.

I wouldn't take it any other way as it stands and I hope Kennard is a bust. I wish him bricks and a crushing defeat in trying to reach his dreams in life.

We got the better end of the deal because we got both Jamal Murray AND Charles Matthews out of not landing Kennard. People keep sleeping on Matthews, but he is going to surprise people THIS season. He will be one of the best 6th men in the nation - bank on it.
As for Murray, he's already a better shooter than Kennard is and is a better ball handler and athlete and is the same size as Kennard (a lot of services have him listed at 6-4, but he measured at 6-5 with shoes, like Kennard, at the NHS). We definitely got the better end of the deal here.

Mmm.....not necessarily. I'd rather have Murray than Kennard, hands down. Kennard is good, don't get me wrong. But that one's not really a push for me. Brown, I would agree. Totally different player than Murray but probably more of a game-changer. Newman, to me, is about equal. He may be a better scorer but Murray I think will be better for the team chemistry. I'd rather have him guarding the opposing 3 than Newman. And despite what others say about needing another big guy, I like our situation as is. Lee can sub at the 4 or 5 and everyone gets plenty of minutes. Another big guy would create PT issues. So personally, the only person I'd have rather gotten was Brown.

I'm not sure. It may have something to do with his family having season tickets at Rupp, and him choosing to play for Duke over Kentucky. Just a hunch.
Honestly, Murray is probably a better get for us than any of our misses from this past spring.
Not saying whose the better player, just saying we would have been giddy to singed any of the other three at the time they chose elsewhere. At that time, Murray was even considered an option.
To be honest when watching the all-star games Newman was my least "wanted recruit." I would have liked to have had Brown or the SF that went to Duke. During the Hoop Summit game the 2 that stood out were Diello and Murray. We got 1 of them so that is fine by me.

I have to admit that I would like to see several of the players that spurned Kentucky to do poorly now. You just don't pass an opportunity like Kentucky for most of them. However, I also have to admit that as much as I hate Duke, they are probably a good choice if you are an elite player. Kennard is a good fit at Duke at least on how shooting guards have done there historically.
I get sick of all the modern PC garbage that people bring to message boards. Screw it.
He's a Dukie. I hope he falls flat. PC idiots can find the nearest bridge and jump. I don't wish him well on the basketball court in any way, shape, form, or fashion.

Just because you're not wishing terrible things for someone doesn't mean you're wishing them success. You could just not wish anything on him, good or bad. He's an 18 year old kid, relax man.
I don't outright wish for them to fail (Kennard, Brown, Zimmerman, Newman) but the best thing that can happen for us is for all their draft stocks to tank. These kids think they'll be fine wherever they go which is true to some extent since they are already on the NBAs radar, but if you are serious about improving as a player and teammate and getting the highest draft position possible, then you go to UK. At least Kennard went to Duke, as much as I hate the Blue Devils, it still makes alot of sense for a player to go there. Can't really knock Kennard too much.

I do not and will not concede. Kennard is a different ballgame. And as far as this class goes, I wouldn't give a rats ass if they all fell flat. I'm a young assistant basketball coach. I'm not a PC maniac. And you'd be surprised how these coaches talk about some of these "kids".
I simply hope Kennard is a bust. It won't change. The difference in me and some of the PC soldiers, is they believe it too, they just won't say it. When he's playing next year they will pray for every one of his shots to fail. That would make him a bust.

Right so if he performs you don't care. If he shoots 55% and takes Duke to the title game you simply don't care? Look, he's a Duke shooting guard. You either want his shots to fall, or you don't. This is basketball theres no third options UK brothers.
Your crap reply wouldnt be so crap if he had only been offered a scholarship to Duke and not Kentucky, but it turns out that he was offered by both schools.
EDIT: He didnt simply choose Duke. He chose Duke over Kentucky, and thats something a Kentucky FAN would not do.
