lol...wow. Did I just read what the OP said correctly? Fallen off? #1 class followed by #2 class but could still be #1. Including 3 one and dones, the about to be 2 #1 overall picks, 2 #1 overall players, 5 players #1 at their positions. This is just since he has been gone. Im sorry OP but you are way off.
I honestly cannot understand why so many people believe that we have had a bad recruiting year. I'm not going to list the players we have coming because we all know them and with a good possibility to add another top 15 player yet to come, yet some act as though the world is ending and Cal has lost his touch. Did Coach O leaving hurt our recruiting? Maybe, but just a little big and nowhere near the top reason that we lost out on a couple of the late recruits like Zimmerman, Newman, Diallo, Rabb, and Brown. I could list several reason why each of those recruits choose not to attend UK and none of those reasons is Coach Antigua. Zimmerman and Rabb choose to stay home, Newman wanted to be the man at MSU, Brown did not like the attention that comes with playing at UK, and Diallo just chose another legit blue blood in Kansas. So, why is that so hard to reason with? Now, there are more reasons why we lost out on those recruits such as negative recruiting, the platoon system (which did hurt some), and the fact that it would be really difficult to follow last years team. Those are just a few more reasons. So, it is what it is and please don't try to make it more than what it is. It is simply a few different types of kids who have different priorities of what they want in college and so they chose non traditional schools of elite recruits. It's just a different kind of year.
It is by no means is an indication of Cal losing anything nor an indication of what the future will bring. Coach Cal is the best recruiter in the history of this sport and it will take a lot more than a few different choices to derail what he has spent his career building. Coach Antigua may have been a very small factor in losing out on a couple of kids but recruits come to play for Coach Cal, not Finished or Payne or Antigua or Barbee or anyone else for that matter. All these paranoid "concerns" will completely vanish after this next crop for 2016.

Bud? That's cute. LOL! Quoting directly, you did say our recruiting has fallen off because O is gone. You can't have it both ways. How can we have a great class if our recruiting has fallen off as much as you say? I really doubt Brown, Swanigan, Newman, Diallo Zimmerman are thinking, gee, I sure would have signed with Kentucky if Antigua was still there.
Being turned down by any and every recruit since November (outside a juco), is called taking a hit in recruiting. When we lose several games, I can already see so many of you, "this wouldn't of happened if we has jaylen Brown or Diallo".
I'm thrilled and happy with recruiting and the program, but we've taken a slight dip since losing Antigua IMO.

Antigua was on the staff for Davis.
Antigua was the main contact for Karl Towns. Both Dominican ties.
EVERY PLAYER on last season's team outside of Ulis had Antigua involved in their recruitment!
We lost on Diallo because Slice Left, thats a fact. Jaylen Brown took a payday at CALifornia and thats a fact. I told you guys about Wiggins and Cliff Alexander getting paid to go to Kansas and Cliff got busted. A lot of the other guys in the class were regionally out of our area, they were west coast guys, etc. Its not a big deal. We have the #2 or #1 class, however you look at it. We WERE SUPPOSED to have Booker and Dakari back and we didnt. Players thinking they were coming back along with alot of players in this class being from far away, and overall picking strange schools is what "hurt". This class is still LOADED. Period. And the 2016 class is going to be off the charts.
