Looks like Cheick Diallo is out of the rotation at Kansas.

LOL I bet if we had got Cliff Alexander instead of Trey Lyles Cliff would have been a stud and averaged something like 8pts, 7rbs. And remember we were loaded. If we had him this year your probably talking 15 and 10. He would have been a 1st rounder with us too. Alexander and Oubre were stupid kids. Talking trash about UK, then most likely wishing they'd picked us. But thank God we got Lyles anyways. But hey bruh. Look here. We're about to bend y'all over at the fieldhouse Saturday. Get ready!!!!!! Its on. We've turned the corner and we're coming for that number 1 spot again.

breaking news...ku fans make excuses. yes...those 5 games diallo sat out would have totally fixed those "fundamentals".

diallo can speak 5 languages...surely he can pick up fundamentals of basketball with all this practice time. plus self is the BEST developer of talent.

Does your other handle have 'MU' in the middle of it? You seem very knowledgeable about the Jayhawks, yet very bitter and surprisingly misinformed about the sport of basketball. You don't seem like a Kentucky fan. You come across as more of a MethZoo fan. I am sure you won't admit it; who would do something that crazy?
 
The fact that CD can not run one of the fundamental plays in the KU offense is a better reason for top recruits not to go there. It is selfs job! He can't teach! He can't develop! He can't adapt to the talent he has. He can't innovate his approach.

He is a Pitino coach. Keep sanding your square pegs until they fit into the round hole. It may take years but in the meantime you can tell them how they should be bird brains or cardinals or jay hawks for the good of the team.

The alternative approach is to find out how the system should be constructed around the most talented players! I'll say it again in case there are some slow learners or CD, or jaw hawk fans, or cardinal fans. That other option to dummy down the offense and run more an AAU All-star offense that doesn't have the learning curve has been discussed many times on PHOG.
 
The way a lot of the players in this class have looked, it actually wouldn't shock me if he just wasn't ready to contribute. Simmons and Ingram are the only guys living up to their hype, or at least coming close.
 
So Murray isnt living up to the hype averaging 17+ ppg? Damn why do people keep forgetting about our own player? What the hell were you expecting from Murray for him not to live up to the hype? 24 ppg and shooting 50% 3pters?

a) Well, he sure as hell isn't going to get there by March sitting on the bench.

b) The guys in front of him haven't gotten the job done in two seasons. Traylor/Lucas are not good as any Jayhawk fan would tell you.

ku fans hold uk players to a higher standard then they do there own. murray is averaging more ppg than any other freshman Cal has ever had at uk. he is 5th among freshman in scoring (i'd have to look but i'd be some of the guys ahead of him play on crappy teams/conferences).

always makes me laugh when fan come up withe elaborate excuses as to why players dont play well. "dummy down the offense". as if basketball and the 10 sets bill self runs are sooooo complicated, only a genius can understand them. but i though diallo was a genius...he speaks 5 languages!!
 
Self's not doing good with 1 and done big men. Got Embiid an injury that he can't seem to recover from... Alexander barely played and now Diallo too.

Self is going to have to start paying more to get big men from here on out

All blue. My other handle only has 2 letters in it total. And no, I don't know much about Kansas other than its the biggest choke artist school in history.

Glad your recruiting is dead because you guys won't stick around now.
 
by the way in case you werent aware... I'm messing with you about the Embiid injury. Of course his injury has nothing to do with Self. But honestly, it seems like Self is backing away a little from the one and done approach. other wise he'd have to play Bragg and Diallo more just so recruiting won't take a hit.

PG- Mason 5-11 185 jr
G- Seldon 6-5 230 jr
W- Greene 6-7 215 jr
PF- Ellis 6-8 225 sr
C- Lucas 6-10 240 jr
Sub- Traylor 6-8 220 sr

PG- Graham 6-2 175 so

- Self would have to conjure his inner Cal persona to make this work however...
- each team gets about 20 MPG
- blue team is the seasoned vets that start and end the game
- red team is the young and talent athletes who get the late 1st half, early 2nd half PT

Read my response, there was no excuses made. Kentucky and Duke run simpler offenses that focus more on the athletic abilities of the player and less on the off-ball movement of the other players. Many of the AAU teams run similar offenses. Doesn't make the Kentucky or Duke players stupid, it just a basketball fact.

I'm not sure how can you can even pin down Kentucky's offense since it changes every year based upon personnel. I guess all of the different offenses Cal runs are simple. :okay:

lol....keep believing this. just makes you look stupid. speaking of basketball facts...how many practices at duke and kentucky have you attended to know the ins and outs of the offenses both teams run?

Cal had to start somewhere. He was a coffee fetch boy at Kansas. Nothing more.

But we all know deep down you'd kill for that to be a current picture instead of the hair plug you've got now.

And yea, Kansas recruiting is dead.
 
I really thought Diallo would do well for them. His motor and rebounding are things that always translate from high school to college.

Kansas fans are right to be peeved. Diallo is the type of talent that you put out there and let okay through his mistakes because 1, he's surrounded by enough talent and experience that it's not going to kill you and 2, the things he does well on defense would make up for his lack of understanding on offense.

I will say, Kansas recruiting is far from dead. They are expected to get a commitment from another 5* big man in a few hours and are still in on #1 Josh Jackson as well as 5* big Jarrett Allen.
 
Also I think that video hit on part of self's problem unintentionally. He's teaching these kids a system instead of teaching them basketball.
