Lonzo Ball unveils freakin $495 shoe

only thing that really matters is whether Lonzo does something in the NBA.

If he does, it will end up being a great investment. If not,...he's screwed.

I heard once that the cost of making a pizza was about a dollar, or maybe less. They make a killing on those things.

A good friend of mine that i went to school with; his parents owned a mom and pop pizza place. We used to go their and watch games and eat pizza. I paid him for the cost of a pizza which was his cost to make it and it was something like 2 bucks. Of course a bigger place like papa johns prob can get cheaper ingredients back then so it may of been a dollar for them? Shoot i dont know if their was a papa johns back then lol. It was like 30 years ago or more.

. . . or frog gigging.

Spend that much money on basketball shoes and you're an idiot. Actually wear them and you'll probably get assaulted (or worse) and robbed of them

I'm all for believing in your child and being confident (or sometimes over-confident) in your child's abilities, but c'mon! At some point his kids are going to need to step in and tell their dad enough already. You could write books on how NOT to market your star-athlete children by what Ball is doing. The execs at Nike/Adidas/etc. have GOT to be rolling in the aisles at the audacity of this move. First off, the shoe looks cheap and ugly. No way in the world it's worth the money. Second, at $495 a pair, the sunnumbeetch BETTER ALREADY be autographed. Expecting an ADDITIONAL $500 for the kids ink + a cheap glass box, lights, and mirror is beyond ridiculous and the guy has essentially made his son a joke before he ever steps foot on an NBA court.

If I were Lonzo, or anyone connected with him who even remotely cares one iota about his future, I'd tell Lavar to take a hike.

Dude looks like egg head on the old Batman, them teeth looks like he just ate a bucket of mustard, nasty. The first thing Lonzo needs to do is pay for his dads teeth whitening.

His son could have signed with any of the big shoe companies if he wasn't involved. This dude has to be losing money and have millions of dollars in loans out there. His next kid is not a one and done and WON'T EVER make it to the NBA.

Fixed.

He's a clown but yall spell his name right every single time. He generates heat and gets an insane amount of publicity, this just may work.

I talked to a guy that had owned a pizza place 20-30 years ago. He basically told me the same thing, the cost to make a pizza was $1-2. Makes me think about getting my own pizza place.

Anyways, we need to make our own damn shoes. There are places that will do that. And wasn't Jordan somewhat of a star when his shoes came out? I mean Lonzo is a good college player & will probably do alright in the NBA, but he hasn't done anything yet.

Of course he's a clown. Eventually nobody will care unless his son becomes a star in the NBA.

So, turns out Lavar Ball may have found some inspiration for his ZO2 design. It's all over twitter that he apparently stole it from some tOSU football coach. Makes sense, given that Lavar seems like the type of dude that would just rip someone else's logo as opposed to actually creating his own.

Don't think I've ever spent more than 60 or 70 bucks for tennis shoes. I don't like Nike, so I've never been tempted to get any of their massively overpriced shoes. Give me Reebok or Adidas and I'm fine.

Yeah, I'm of the "wear Sketchers and maintain a healthy retirement account" ilk, myself.

I find it odd that the majority of kids at my kids' school with the Jordans are the ones on free lunch...

Lastly, apparently, calling a kid's financial status into question is the best way to sell the related merchandise. Never met a woman that gave 2 shits about a grown ass man wearing a $200 pair of tennis shoes. You're advertising stupid for free, fool. And you're putting on airs for other men... congrats?

Your crazy! Yeah they might be rare someday because there won't be many out there because no one else bought any. And they still won't be worth anything.

I'm not arguing that it's a good shoe or that I like it.

I just work with a few sneaker heads and I know how they are.

ANYONE that buys a pair of those for that amount of $$$ or anything close is a complete and total Indiana Fan...

I am actually starting to feel sorry for the kid. The old man has already spent every dime that the kid made at UCLA....

The guy is going to get a CRASH course in business:
1. No retail outlet is going to pick up the shoe.
a. too expensive
b. he would not be able to meet a minimal demand and he won't have the required capital required that big outlets will want.
2. He will have to sell the shoe online...but no one will plunk down $500 buck to wear a shoe they can't try on.
3. The shoes are stupidly expensive because he has contracted with an off-shore supplier and running them in small lots.
4. There are just too many other things that will probably go wrong.
5. His ONLY hope for success is that I said it will fail -- therefore there is a glimmer of hope.

Really feel sorry for the Ball brothers -- their dad is a legitimate whack-ball.

Dem old lady's an be bitch up a storm. Tell her to feed the dog and get back in the kitchen bf make u a sammich or a damn meatloaf
Meatloaf was involved but it damn sure didn't need to be cooked. Let's just say she's good now. Real good. [winking]

These were $8.95 at the local department store when i was a kid. they were top of the line in bball shoes.
You must be youngster or live in a more expensive part of the country. Mine were 7.16 with tax.Remember my mom telling me that I must be out of my mind if I thought she was paying that for a pair of tennis shoes

How well made are these shoes? Do most folks buy these things for the investment? FWIW, I enjoyed watching the Ball kid play, but I gotta' wonder how close he is to his dad as far as these promotions are going.
