Unfortunately for Cowboys fans, he already signed his extension and will be making around $45 million each of the next 2 years. The Cowboys won’t be able to reasonably cut him until after the 2024 season.
He wasn't going to be throwing the ball 80 yards in the air for a hail mary, so about all they had hope of was a bunch of laterals and hope for the best. that got shut down real quick. Go Niner's.
Yeah clearly the concept was much better thant the result. The play call was actually pretty creative. They were going to run a pitch and lateral to either side, whichever Dak chose and had three lineman each way set up as a wall to lead Dak after he receive the pitch back. You can see Dak take off as soon as he threw it headed towards the WR, it just got blown up by the DB before the WR could even pitch it back. Different but not terrible idea since you couldnt hail mary it that far.
Oh I remember that one. Incredibly stupid, but it was only week 6, and there wasn’t a clear “this is your last chance scenario.” In this recent case, you just worked your ass off the whole season and your last chance is THAT play.
