It's hard for me to feel sorry for a guy that is raking in 5 million a year and is a celebrity.Thats fine for you. Me, I am over Cal. I feel sorry for the guy. He should have left the game 6 years ago, Ali should have left the fight game, 5 or 6 years earlier, Bradshaw and so on. When you think you are the IT thing no matter the sport, including Rupp, you have a hard time leaving. Look at what Rupp did to hall. Sitting in on his practices, in a recliner at the game, things like that. It is very hard to leave once you are that invested. Hope Cal retires this year. Hope he enjoys his retirement but he will not. You will see him involved somehow somewhere.
Also, Cal can change at any time. He has the ability and experience to be great, he is the one choosing to focus on individual goals and accomplishments. He knows exactly what he is doing and he refuses to come off of it. He knows damn well he could change the focus to a team concept, but he refuses to do it.
He warned Arkansas fans in his introductory press conference. Go back and listen to it. At the end, he said "people keep telling me you can't win this way, but I'm going to prove that wrong. I make it about these kids and if I do right by them, we will accomplish big things"
He told them all ahead of time. How anyone can feel sorry for a millionaire that is doung exactly what he wants, is crazy to me.
