Thats fine for you. Me, I am over Cal. I feel sorry for the guy. He should have left the game 6 years ago, Ali should have left the fight game, 5 or 6 years earlier, Bradshaw and so on. When you think you are the IT thing no matter the sport, including Rupp, you have a hard time leaving. Look at what Rupp did to hall. Sitting in on his practices, in a recliner at the game, things like that. It is very hard to leave once you are that invested. Hope Cal retires this year. Hope he enjoys his retirement but he will not. You will see him involved somehow somewhere.

It's hard for me to feel sorry for a guy that is raking in 5 million a year and is a celebrity.

Also, Cal can change at any time. He has the ability and experience to be great, he is the one choosing to focus on individual goals and accomplishments. He knows exactly what he is doing and he refuses to come off of it. He knows damn well he could change the focus to a team concept, but he refuses to do it.

He warned Arkansas fans in his introductory press conference. Go back and listen to it. At the end, he said "people keep telling me you can't win this way, but I'm going to prove that wrong. I make it about these kids and if I do right by them, we will accomplish big things"

He told them all ahead of time. How anyone can feel sorry for a millionaire that is doung exactly what he wants, is crazy to me.

John Nabors (Locked on Arkansas) is going to he doing his show from KSBar the day of the Ark vs UK game and that guy is getting very nervous. He's been getting a ton of threats from UK fans because there are a lot of receipts from some things he said when Cal was hired.

He read off some of the comments and I must say, I'm kind of worried about this guy, some of those comments are disturbing.

They took a call from a UK fan that was blowing up their lines. The guy was a complete idiot. He was trying to talk smack, but he was noticably nervous and just sounded like a moron.
There was one that got through that was better, but the first caller is a lot of the reson why we get a bad wrap.

That's the thing, most of the guys that played for Cal, especially in his later years, seemed to struggle. The better guys had their moments, but rarely sustained it. Then, after they left UK, they always seemed to explode and Cal would be right there to take credit for the explosions.

Nelly Davis is just the latest in a long line of guys that struggled undrr Cal.

I’ve said for years Cals decline is a product of 2 things.
1. High School players coming into College are not nearly as good as they used to be. AAU ball ruins them. They don’t work as hard in the weight room and usually can’t guard a lamp post. Depending on freshman rosters was not sustainable as the talent level declined.
2. Steph Curry….. with the advent of guys shooting much further out Cals dribble drive, take your man one on one was getting harder and harder. He wanted athleticism over shooting. The game changed and he didn’t.
I don’t think he completely got lazy. With these 2 things happening no coach could continue to win with young, athleticism. The blueprint was broke.
5* freshman went from Wall, bledsoe, Bam and those beasts to Boston, Edward’s and Collin’s.
Skinny runts that had zero toughness, no shooting ability and couldn’t defend.

That dude created the smuggest video I’ve seen after they got Cal. We all told them he would suck. First round my ass, sure if they make it but we told them exactly how this would play out. He just is not pulling out games he normally does.

I don't think 2015 broke him, because it was just 2 years after that when he went 27-5 with Monk, Fox and Bam. That team was legit and we got hosed.

2018 had, what, 7 NBA players, including MKG. He just stunk at coaching them.

2019 was a damn good team. yeah, there was the loss to Evansville, but we were an OT period away from a FF.

2020, we won the SEC by 3 games, but that was kind of tge start of Cal's true laziness.

His contract is automatically extended by a year if he makes the NCAA Tournament for his first two appearances at Arkansas.

There are also performances bonuses that potentially allow him to make an additional $1.25 million per year.

None of this stuff surprises me. I have a very close relative that is a narcissist and when you deal with a narcissist, you walk away each time shaking your head and mumbling "WTF was that".

Nothing is ever their fault, they're lazy and they will use whatever excuse they can grab to justify everything. This guy found out his sister was molested by a neighbor when they were kids, two weeks later, he used that as his defense in an argument with his son. He was losing the argument, so he grabbed the only thing he could think of. That molestation was supposed to be confidential.

Calipari has life changing money, he has fame and he is happy with his life's accomplishments. He is satisfied and he no longer has to put the hard work in.

Not only that, he refuses to have anyone on his staff that he can't bully. If you're a guy with balls, integrity and are accomplished, your shelf life is short.

But I always go back to April of 2012, after the title game. He did that interview where he said he was telling Ellen that they now have that "title thing out of the way, now let's just focus on making it about these kids". We thought he was just talking. Nope, it was real and just like DeAaron Fox said "he ain't changing". Nope, he's not changing.

He won't go G-League, because there's no coverage, he craves the camera and attention, but that's where he belongs.

Always appreciated Arkansas joining the SEC - they are probably the only fanbase that matches UKs passion for basketball
