Save Josh Hines-Allen from that terrible franchise somebody. I want him to get a ring.
I'm pretty sure I'd not want to work for the Jags owner unless it kept me out of a soup line.
Well, that says a lot about the Jaguars, doesn't it? Have some talent but, evidently, the front office is a nightmare. Won't be Liam's last offer, I'm sure.
Robert Saleh is also up for this job. If the league's only Muslim owner hires the league's only ever Muslim head coach (and former Jacksonville assistant), then you have to question if Coen was a serious candidate anyway despite the "second interview" request.
Saw in the paper this AM that Jacksonville has the worst record in the NFL over the last 10 or 12 years, and it is not particularly close, Cleveland is 2nd worst and had 10 or 12 more wins.
Don't forget that an employee was able to steal over $22m from them. Complete organization-wide incompetence here.

I was listening to talk radio out of Tampa this afternnon they said that his salary will be 4 million this year. Possible coach in waiting deal
Coen got quite the raise. Hes a very good oc and now basically gets hc money without the headache. It just seems like coaching offense is comes easy to him.
Will be interesting to see what he does next. He wisely bases his moves off not just finances and elevation, but on fit. He knew he matched well with baker. Curious what will make him leave that situation and the qb he is willing to tie his career to next.

Agreed...but would not Trevor Lawrence be a perfect candidate to marry with Coen as a reclamation project? (I think Lawrence has true talent to me)
Not sure. Apparently coen doesn't think so. Maybe it is truly the owner/fo concerns there. Maybe it was just the massive pay raise and he didn't see it worth the risk?
Brian Thomas looks like a star too, but I think there is too much to overcome within that organization for these coaches. Looking at that team on paper, there is good base talent all over. There's no football reason why this job shouldn't be attractive.
What do they expect when all sports have been opened to gambling and gamblers and we are bombarded with ads featuring celebrities pushing everyone to gamble. How long before long-dead college game fixing, and even professional game fixing is uncovered? In the pursuit of every more wealth, the sports are being destroyed as honest feats of skill, and transformed into questions about integrity and morality.

But you don't think that the organization's lack of internal controls and auditing was a bigger factor in this particular situation?
Much better in the run game than ck imo. Pass game is wildly different and tough to compare.
I think coen would be the much better hc just not sure hed be wildly successful.
Reportedly Ben Johnson had the same reservations as Liam Coen regarding the GM Jacksonville had. The GM is no longer there and the Jags made another run at Coen. Why does that make him slimy?
You’re telling me our recent OC has agreed to be the highest paid coordinator in the NFL and possibly will become an NFL head coach, and yet we’ve been trash on offense forever?

Yeah. This happens all the time n the real world with higher level opportunities. Things change. It is what it is.
The guy can coach. He complained "supposedly" about the lack of discipline on the team on his way out the door. If guys aren't giving 100 percent, it's hard to make anything successful. I tend to believe that rumor after watching the undisciplined play this past year.
I agree. It just makes me realize a good OC probably can’t fix our offense when you take into account how our previous OCs experienced more success before or after Kentucky (except for Scangarello haha).
The thing is he won't stay in Jacksonville either. Wait till a high profile job comes vacant - Dallas for instance. then he gone.
I wouldn't stay there long either. He won't win there. Jaguars franchise isn't gonna do anything IMO. He definitely job hops a ton though and eventually that catches up to u.
