Levis opting out

It is absolutely the correct decision for that kid. He has left everything he could on the field the past 2 years. I will root for whatever team he goes to (except when they play the Bengals) unless it is Pittsburgh and then I will just root for him like I do Benny.

It’s his decision to make. I’m fine with that but he shouldn’t be a part of the team any longer.
Anybody that sits out their bowl game shouldn’t be allowed on the sidelines. The rest of the team laid it all on the field too. You could quit in the middle of the season and say the same thing. So now players can transfer and play immediately and get paid and sit out when their teams are playing in a bowl game. Benny Snell and Josh Allen are in a class of their own, winners!!

I’m guessing most of the time the rest of the team still views then as teammates and would want them on the sidelines but maybe not. Their opinions are the ones that matter.

I don't want to hear anything about fan attendance. Players can opt out then the fans need to start opting out. Eliminate a bunch of these bowls since they don't have to participate. This isn't meant as a shot at Levis. It's a shot at all of college football. Why even spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to go to a game when your best player/s don't play?

Still going...go get paid WL. Be very interested to see how qbs are used. What will be the O/U how many passes we throw!!
I'll probably still go since I live in the area, just bummed out about the current climate. It's not that I have a problem with Levis getting paid. Just a Kentucky fan who wants to see the team at their best in the bowl game.

I am a fan of this. WL has nothing else to prove to us, nor does he owe anyone playing in the bowl game. All of those reps with the 1's will go to Sheron and Wade making the bowl practices even more valuable if 1 becomes the starter.
While I can certainly understand "understanding it", or even being fine with it. But you're a fan of it? What?

My understanding is that Levis played much of the season with turf toe and a badly injured shoulder. Under the circumstances, I can't blame him for sitting out. I very much hope that Kentucky wins, though, and that one or more of our QBs get good reps. Could be a big day for CRod, if he plays, or McClain.

I was planning on going and taking my son, not sure if we will now. Not like as a boycott or anything like that but certainly takes the shine off the apple. That's a lot of money to spend to go see a game that the best players opt out of playing in.

I'm sure CRod will be the next to opt out. Might not be the last either. This is what the bowl season has become in 2022 and it will probably only get worse with CFP expansion looming. When the money schools get paid to participate starts to drop and game sponsors get stingy, many of the marginal bowls will disappear.

Fan might be a strong word, but if a team isn't in the playoff or a really good bowl, then those extra practices should be all about getting ahead for the next season.
I just have a hard time with this rationale and always will. If you're going to shut it down because you're not playing in the playoff or a really good bowl, then why even bother playing out the rest of the regular season once you've been eliminated from any of those options?

I'm not speaking about Levis specifically here, just to your general point.
