Levis bringing The Heat

He does need some touch on some short stuff, like when someone is standing there wide open, a bullet is not necessary. It happened to more than one receiver last night. I think that can get worked out.

He threw some beautiful balls last night where the receiver made his cut and the ball hit him in the hands for easy catches. He's allready better than last year and will get better. He does put mustard on the ball, but as been said, receivers are paid to catch balls that hit them in the hands. This group of receivers will adjust as they get more reps and the drops and missed throws will go down.

When was the last time a UK quarterback threw for 300 yards & 3 tds, and everyone reacted with "oh well, about what i expected"??? High expectations, love it!

Couple bad throws, like the int. Couple drops, Cummings had the easiest TD catch ever blow off his fingers. When scrambling to sideline Levis threw across body to McClain, again should have been an easy catch for the running back said to have best hands.

Best result yesterday, executed 2 minute offense to get FG to end 1st half. Levis was dreadful in 2 minutes drills all 2021, like end of Knoxville game. But won Iowa bowl game at the end. Starts 2022 with successful 2 minute drill. Progress!!!

- As you stated 300 yards, 3 TDs...is productive.
- Given we had a special teams TD and a fumble to the 3 yard line TD....those were two drives that we couldn't rack up stats offensively and had to give the ball back.

Given how much pressure Miami was able to put on Levis and he still threw for that much....kids a stud.

Yes he dials it in a bit too much... I'm not so sure I'm in the party of if it hits your hands you gotta catch it crowd.

Think of it it this way... a catcher in baseball isn't going to catch the ball barehanded. Makes more sense when you think about it that way ;)

He can throw it any way he wants. These guys know how he throws. If you’re a receiver, you adjust your body to accept the ball. The one to Cummings was overthrown, catchable? Perhaps, but the pass to Key for the score? That’s a throw not too many can make.

I think he has gained more throwing speed since last year, usually you dont gain accuracy as well when you throw that way. But to each his own. As long as the play calling jives with his throwing, I'll sit back and watch success unfold.

And that’s what the pros will say. WRs in the pros catch stuff regardless. Bad pass, great pass, overthrown, under thrown, it’s their job to get it. You wanna play in the big leagues? If it hits you in the hands you catch the damn ball.
That's been the problem with the receiver corp in the Stoops era. When you watch the top teams their receivers are making incredible catches all the time. We rarely catch anything that would be considered a "tough" catch and actually miss a bunch each week that we shouldn't. Hopefully that improves with an offense that actually throws the ball now..

If he continues to make solid throws while staring down a free blitzer then I'll live with some heat on the short ones. Dude is a gamer man. So lucky to have this kid

I don’t mind the heat on the shorter passes. But too many passes behind the receiver. Need to hit them in stride. The behind the receiver passes are the ones that get tipped and intercepted. A hard thrown ball behind a receiver is not an easy catch. He had same issue early last season and got much better as the season went on. Hopefully the same will happen this year.
GO BIG BLUE!!!
