My boss is a HUGE LSU fan (and alum). He's heard that Miles will step down at end of year due to unspecified health problems. I've seen at least one website that says the AD is tired of losing to Bama and not being in the BCS/CFP and he's ready to pull the trigger. Regardless, the rumor seems to have legs. Nothing official yet. But, if true, would be another HUGE job coming open. That would make 3 jobs in the SEC alone. Could be a very interesting offseason.

With all the confirmed job openings, sure seems like there will be plenty of good assistants looking for a place. Any chance we might get a new OL, DL, etc. coach that would be an upgrade? We need something.

As if the party wasn't crazy enough already...an LSU job opening...

They'd have their pick...college and pro...Pete Carroll, Chip Kelly, John Harbaugh, Mark Dantonio, Dabo (though i think gonna hold out for his alma mater), Charlie, Brother Bob, even Urban may think about it...hell Spurrier and Beamer may rethink retirement...

if he does bounce...i'd love to scoop up some of his staff...

My boss, and his 'inside' source, says it's true. Probably just rumor but Les is getting up there, could be a great color commentator to take Corso's place who has become an embarrassment. I've even seen a few threads on the LSU board commenting on the rumor. It is a rumor at this point. The list from the link is mostly a joke. The job would definitely attract a lot of interest, though.

Dabo to Bama is interesting, if he wins it all this year you could be right. They might make a play for Arkansas's coach, oh BB has them playing pretty well now. But his teams are slow starters

I don't care why Les leaves as long as he leaves. He has embarrassed LSU enough. Wouldn't mind keeping Coach Wilson, Coach O, and coach Raymond the rest can go with Les.

Maybe the AD can hire Jerry DiNardo or Mike Archer back for some glory days.

I lived in Louisiana from 1990-1998. In between Archer and DiNardo was another chummy guy by the name of Curly Hallman. No way would LSU would want to re-hire any of those guys - just like we certainly won't be re-hiring Joker or Mumme for another go-around.

Would love to have Miles at UK. It would never happen, but one can dream....

Ever notice how these intriguing rumors pop up after a big SEC football school loses a game or two. Bama loses and Kiffin is suddenly screwing everybody on campus. Miles loses two and he has a previously unknown health problem. Just sayin.'

It's that time of year for the "Les Miles farewell talk". It's a holiday tradition in Red Stick. It will happen eventually.

As some wise CFB folks have said on twitter, if you are LSU you do not even possibly consider this UNLESS you already have a grand slam dunk hire waiting in the wings. If you don't, you are left in December sending planes to sit on the Philly tarmac begging Chip Kelly and eventually have to "settle" for someone who's resume isnt even comparable to the Mad Hatter.

As a lifelong Tiger fan I can't wait for Les to go. He's lost way to many big games and is clueless most of the time. with the resources, fan support and talent available Les should win a lot more games than he does. He should NEVER lose to schools like Arkansas, Mississippi State and Kentucky. Les has lost to all three in his tenure.

Respectfully, did you proof what you posted AGAIN? You have two or three paragraphs for coaches repeated. Like you cut and pasted something two or three times. I think it may have been more the quality of your post over the content of the message. I

Maybe Georgia fan & LSU fan should just trade coaches? Why wouldnt both fanbases be happy with that? LSU gets a coach who recruits & develops good QB's, Georgia gets an exciting slightly crazy coach who doesnt thump the bible all the time.

Stoops isn't going anywhere...but in a perfect world, if all cards were played right and everything fell perfectly into place...

HC--Mark Stoops
DC--Frank Beamer
OC--Mark Richt
QB--Steve Spurrier
WR--Norm Chow
OL--Les Miles
RB--Sylvester Croom
TE--Al Golden
DL--George O'leary
DB--Randy Edsall
ST--Greg Schiano

Dick Gabriel said that Les Miles was all set to take the Michigan job before they settled on Rodriguez. Miles backed out because someone leaked the news before the Tiger's bowl game that year. Herbstreit maybe?

extremely difficult to do that from an iphone... an old one at that with fat fingers. These damn things were made for women :chairshot:

Corey Raymond
2003 New Iberia (La.) High School (defensive coordinator)
2004-05 Westgate (La.) High School (defensive coordinator)
2006-08 LSU (intern, 2006; assistant strength coach, 2007-08)
2009-10 Utah State (cornerbacks)
2011 Nebraska (secondary)
2012- LSU (defensive backs)

Would love it if Les Miles became the hc at Ky....really! Wow! Sounds like the fb fans are upset.....

If they're going to try to find a coach that can beat Bama they might be looking for a long long time. I always sort of liked the Mad Hatter becasue he had the balls to put a game on the line to get the win instead of the "extend the game" theory that a lot of coaches adhere too.

Hearing a lot of TX alums down here in Houston talk like it's a distinct possibility that Charlie Strong may leave for Miami. It's a slap in the fact to TX as Miami job is not as good as the TX job but it may ultimately be a better fit for CS. With the higher profile jobs becoming available, shouldn't we be looking at assistants who might like to coach at UK (and upgrade our staff in the meantime?)?
