I think it’s hyperbolic to assume we would have 6 or 7 shot clock violations with Wallace/Reeves/CJ and Oscar on the floor. I think we would have better spacing and flow. So, you would have been willing to see about 6 or 7 shot clock violations today in order to play for later in the year. These guys aren't working hard enough to get open and they're not confident enough to create their own shots. I'm guessing your answer is to make them learn on the fly and force them to make a play, even if it meant losing today's game. If we had lost today, what would the board be saying? I'll give you 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count.
So, yes, Wheeler is frustrating at times for sure. He also scored several times in late shot clock situations and also had multiple assists in those situations. He had the assist on the Wallace 3 late, also. We won this game, which is exactly what the team needed. I'll take it.
The few minutes we’ve seen these combos together we’ve looked good. I’d like to see more, and don’t believe it would be learning on the fly. 3 of those guys are in their 4th year of college.
