Lamont's chronic injury.

I wonder if this is going to be a pain tolerance thing until he can get a fix in the offseason
Yep. As a senior, I’d be asking for the cortisol injections and the most heavy duty support brace they had. It’s his off arm, so while it does limit him going left (which we saw some uncharted turnovers bc in the 2 games he tried playing through before sitting out)… he could still go and be 70%

Really bad luck he falls on it after tipping the ball away and gets reinjured.

We can't survive another 3 games without this dude he is the heart and soul of this team especially on D and getting our offense running.

In that 1st half we had 14 nearly all open 3 point attempts with motion offense we had none of that in the 2nd half.

Koby had to strap it up and hit 2 incredible tough step back 3s to win this game for us tonight.

NEED BUTLER BACK BAD

Not sure if it's pain or if it's mobility. Depending on the injury his arm might just give out. That could be why he turned the ball over so much vs Vandy.
This.

If is isn’t dangerous long term, they should probably just brace it up in a heavy duty brace. Sure, it’ll limit mobility but it’ll be controlled and should help with any accidental hyper extensions etc in the heat of a game. It’s his non shooting arm and we need him for his defense, handles and penetration/passing more so than jump shooting

I know the negative people on this board will forget very quickly, but this was another reminder that we were a very very good team before injuries took their toll on us. If Butler is out and we drop some games, I’m sure it will go back to every post being about how bad we are and how mediocre Pope is and how Pope is too nice

Sit him until the SEC tourney.

We are in the NCAA tourney even if we lose out and we should be able to win a few without him.

Let him play in the SEC tourney to get the rust off.

Let him get 100%.

I absolutely hate this injury to Butler. I hate it for him, his teammates, and this fanbase. If he can’t get healthy this year there will be a big “what if” that hovers over whatever tournament run they make.

Butler needs to play smarter then that. His shoulder is hurt, and he was playing pretty reckless with it.Before he reinjured it I said to my son, he better be careful or he will be done.

If he makes it back, which I'll be surprised if he does he needs to pick and choose when and how he goes after the ball.

“Which I’ll be surprised”. Thanks Doc!

I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t play until the big dance. Can’t afford to risk it happening at the end of the season. Even if it cost a spot in seeding.

He is a great competitor. He doesn’t hold back when on the court. Yes, I agree I would have preferred not to dive for that ball…but I am sure he heard that all his career dive on the floor after lose balls….

I hope he will heal fast and and be back soon. He is the heart of this team!

If he’s not playing he can’t score or steal balls either.

It’s his last chance at big time ball.

He should still have a chance at a career overseas. And it also cant really be just HIS choice.

Butler probably has some real AC joint damage right now that could very well be one more impact away from being done for the season. We're proving we can win without him, so for the sake of the big tournament, we have to give him rest.

In the heat of the moment it’s hard to think rather than react. He’s a fearless competitor, and I hope he makes it back.
