First time the football team gives up a FG tonight they will be the worst team ever.1 day away from you saying our Football teams sucks, the players suck, etc....nonstop until we are about to win and then POOF you'll vanish. Then you get an entire season to do the same thing and cripple the basketball game threads under Pope.

The show has gotten less and less call-in driven over the years, you used to have a cast of characters who called in regularly. Now it's more that they'll have certain planned segments where they want to get people's opinions on some specific topic. Makes sense that people quit calling just for whatever reason if they're going to sit on hold forever, or be discouraged from talking about whatever nonsense they have in mind (and Matt is not very patient with callers). It's more of a "listen to Matt and crew discuss things, have some interviews and guests, occasionally take some calls on "what do you think about topic x?"

all I will say is, just like when Matt Jones decided to go after Tubby, there is a calculus as to when the decision is made, and it has little to do with the actual performance of the coach. So I take "when it was needed" with a grain of salt. Had the press gone after Cal early and often instead of being PR men and censoring haters, Cal might still be here and the program would have flourished instead of the outcome we had. I have come to appreciate Jerry Tipton so much more over the years of seeing how the press deals with Coaches.
Tbf, a lot of the characters have passed away too. Several well know KSR callers have passed away over the past couple of years. Even Jon Short, who called in often, has apparently been going through some stuff (nothing serious it was found out) that kept him from calling in alot. Life has been tough for a lot of Kentuckians lately and it's just gotten harder to have a devotion to a radio show. But you are also right in they don't take as many call as they used to. Wednesdays are usually their biggest take callers days.
