We are in a period of uncertainty and as much as I hate to say it, Louisville seems to be going in the right direction.

All things being equal, if we have a good coach, we should always do better than them, but that's the big question. Will Stoops continue to hold us hostage or can we hire an up-and-coming coach that brings new life and new energy.

I'd say 3-2 UL. UK should always dominate this matchup, but when UK mismanages its program, UL will always have the opportunity to win.

Prior to this year, Stoops had done a good job getting the team to play well in the UL game, but it seems like his best days are behind him.

We're not going to have an offense capable enough of outscoring them anytime soon. If Stoops is here for the next 5 years, you're looking at 4-1 UL.

Stoops has no one to blame but himself. He’s one highest paid coaches in the game in what was a very low pressure job. He screws it all up looking elsewhere. I wish to God he’d gone to Texas AM. At least we could move on. Now the whole program is in lmbo. No one knows if he’s coming or going. He’d better work a miracle with the transfer this year or he’s gone. We just can’t take another season like this one. Tennessee SC Florida even Vanderbilt have left us in their dust. We can’t let Louisville get that far ahead of us again.

With stoops? We’re winless.

Without stoops? Even a homeless guy could beat those losers once every five years

It will be more consistent rivalry. The game has always been tied to coaching. UK will always have more talent but the gap won’t be that big.

It could go either way 3-2 or 2-3. I doubt you see a 0-5 stretch from either team in this new era.

Uk was in the dumps in 2022…UL was flighing high …UK walks into their house with Brohm love all over the place and beat UL

So I’m not sold UL is going in right direction…they just don’t suck as bad as Petrino era at the end and they have an easy conference schedule

UK puts a team with discipline and coaching …we have talent on roster typically…UK wins that game 7 of 10 times

Though I'm nearly done with this HC and staff, I'm willing to consider the possibility they put it back together before they absolutely MUST go. Outcome still seems hard to predict.

A few things.

Brohm appears to be on track to being a really good coach. No, surprise. He’s been trending that way for a while.

Specifically, he can recruit, develop, and coach offense.

ACC being what it is, or isn’t, he should be able to keep them around 8-9 wins.

As far as the game we’re most concerned about. Stoops better find some points. Of course, that could be said about every game for Stoops.

The ability for Stoops to bog people down in an ugly titty bumping fest is largely over exaggerated and waning. Especially offensive coaches who know what they’re doing.

That doesn’t necessarily mean air it out. Stoopers on here always get excited when folks argue CMS’ lack of offensive consistency. They assume we’re arguing for Air Raid. No we’re arguing for moving the ball and scoring.

Offense means running too. Plenty of teams, coaches/styles/schemes out there that really utilize the run effectively. But I digress, that’s an exhausting discussion for plenty of other threads.

Back to UL game…

Brohm gone find that end zone either through the air or on the ground. Stoops better figure out how to do the same.

I work with UL alum (many I like) and we agree it's a strange series and a see-saw of prosperity. One team dominates on average 5 years. Than the other. Rinse repeat.

I call it the Bizarro Bowl. My UL friends agree. 😝😝

In this era much will depend on how each of their seasons go leading up. Nowadays if things aren't going well, by end of season everyone basically quits and rolls over.

Hard to say, because if we have another season, next season like our season that just ended, Stoops won't be here. With all things being equal & I'm not trying to bash Louisville. But I've always felt from the time that we started playing UL again back in the 90's that if we had a decent coach & if we were not on probation that UK should dominate UofL more so in football than we have in men's basketball. The reason is very simple, it's recruiting. I mean if you were a 4 or 5-Star high school recruit. Had you rather play in year in & year out of the most prestigious football conference in America (The SEC). Or had you rather play in whatever conference that Louisville is & has been in over the years
