Jacksonville now , Louisville in my heart
I turn on the KU vs. Baylor game hoping for a good match and it is 24- 4. Man the other B12 teams just bow down to KU no matter what. Bucknell Bill can't do crap when it matters but he has the conference thing figured out that is for sure.

Only team that has a shot to take it from them this year is Oklahoma, and they had a nailbiter against Hawaii.

Bill has a national championship and a national runner up, so he has won some when "it matters".

LOL ok buddy. He also has lost a zillion times to double digit seeds in the dance . That is the definition of choking . Bob Stoops has a title but he still is the biggest choker in all of CFB history . Name me one time Cal has lost to a Northern Iowa or Bucknell in the dance.... You can't.

Hate it as much as anyone, but if KU shoots like they have so far this year in the tournament, I don't see anyone beating them.

Come on cane, why hate. If you measure success by titles, Self has 1 title and so does Calipari. Also, Kentucky has had about 200 top 10 players on each team since Calipari has been your coach and Self has had about one per year. Just show us a little love for playing some great team basketball this year. :joy:

Does Robert Morris count?

Bill has definitely had some early exits, wasn't arguing that point, but he has the talent to possibly win it all. Their chances of winning it all this year is probably greater than ours.

Are you serious ? LMAO NIT . Let me say it again NIT . I am talking about when it matters. Listen Self is a top 5 coach from Nov to Feb but isn't even a top 15 coach in March and it has been proven. Cal will always get you to the elite 8 and usually the final 4. Bill will get you knocked out usually in the 2nd round . The proof is in the pudding. KU is really good , I am not saying anything but that but Bill in March is laughable . My point was how can a guy who can get teams to look so good early have them look so bad later?

No, not you Marshal. There are at least 2 Kansas fans in this thread though.

If anyone wants to watch a KU hoping they will lose or have trouble tune in to road games. Much like our Cats they are not gonna lose at home except on rare occasions.

Yet both each have one title.

an NIT team losing to another NIT team isn't really much of an upset or a choke now is it?

I forgot there is even another post-season tournament. You are right. NIT first round losses shouldn't count the same as NCAA Tournament losses.

I don't think they've beaten anyone great yet but they've made a couple of decent teams look pretty bad. Vandy and UCLA are their best wins.

ku is an elite blue blood program. self has been there for over 10 years and thats all he has. probably 20 coaches can achieve the same success bill has had in the same time.

Self is in his 13th season at Kansas. 1 championship and total of 2 FF.
Cal is in his 7th year at UK, 1 NC and total of 4 FF. Yes, when Nerlens was injured and we had a very weak physically and mentally point guard we lost to Robert Morris. Like the team wanted to even be there. It was contractual or we would have passed.
Self has done great, he does lose to double digit underdogs nearly 50% of the time in March.

The media just slobbers over what a great accomplishment it is, but if they can win that many over such a tough conference, you would think that they should have won several NC's during that stretch.

Several, huh? Well it sounds nice. It's also quite hard to do. Roy Williams dominated for 15 years at KU and couldn't win one.

I am not sure that you fully understand the word 'fictitious'.

I saw that and laughed. I was tempted to point it out, but figured if one can't grasp vocabulary that a 1st grader comprehends, there's most likely zero chance at grasping larger nebulous concepts pertaining to achievement, consecutive streaks, and how much the odds are against you the longer you can continue said streak in modern college athletics.

Not to mention, the only other time it's been previously done was UCLA's dynasty days under Wooden.

/no big deal

It ends January 30th

Which streak are you referring to? I was responding to @Schwagg about consecutive NCAA appearances which will be 27 which will tie a NCAA record this year and set a new one next year, @PenetrateAndScore , I think was referring to the 12th straight conference title which is one shy of UCLA record string of 13 in the 60's and 70's. You might be thinking of the 33 straight victories at AFH when Kentucky comes to the Phog on Jan-30th.

K-State used to give them a run a few years back with Martin, but that's about it. Big12 teams are scared of Kansas, while SEC teams seem to relish the chance of knocking out Kentucky.. aside from a few exceptions, that seems to be the case every year.

And yet, all that coddling has gotten Kansas no where. If deep tournament runs by Kentucky means the rest of the SEC battle testing us all year, I'll take it!

seems like we have this conversation about every year, and we always go further in the tournament.

And what do you get for 11 straight conference titles? A T-shirt? Has any other conference team gone to a FF during that run? Didn't think so.

Does that lessen the streak in your mind? Winning any major conference 11-Straight is hard. To put it in perspective, Kentucky is trying for 2-Straight SEC titles and would have a chance at 11-Straight only once in it's history if they hadn't been put on NCAA Death Penalty in 1952-53.
