KU shoots last 13 FTs of the game

Then you must have never played a game of organized basketball because you learn the 3ft rule in elementary school. How can you sit there and criticize people for their opinions when you don't have a flipping clue about the game of basketball lol?

I did play basketball as a kid, but Football and Baseball were mainly played because obviously there aren't many 6'1` 220 white guys running around in the NBA or in college.

That isn't a rule technically as explained earlier in the post, and it is a rule that hardly ever comes into play, so to say it's learned in elementary school is pretty damn ignorant.

To be accurate and have correct records relative to other conference teams, you must subtract 3 wins & add 3 loses to KU's big 12 record. This will eliminate the ref's obvious & unquestionable bias to the most over-rated team in college sports.

Didn't see first half so no comment on FT imbalance for that. The over the back foul that almost resulted in an OU win did occur after a missed foul on the OU player on Mason.
Last OT I think, OU was called for walking on a key late rebound .. while on the other end a KU player actually fell to the court with the ball after a rebound and no call for walking was made. In the ensuing scramble KU got the ball. A great game no doubt with some questionable coaching by Kruger calling those timeouts setting up difficult inbounds situations; especially the last one with Woodard fouled out. Mason was definitely in violation on the last inbounds. Ref did a very poor job there. OU would still have had to make a basket though as they were still 1 down.
Can't expect Hield to think of it but he should have brought the ball down in front of Mason as he was doing all that swiping resulting in a likely hitting of the ball and a technical, altho you have to wonder if it would have been called.

When OU missed the one and one with two seconds left, they sealed their fate.

Could have won the game right there but choked. You can't let Kansas have three tries on their home court.
Or the officials could have just correctly called even 1 of the 2 goal tends ku got away with? 1 of 2! I guess that's asking too much though. [eyeroll]

Absolute mugging.

This is something else (in addition to generally incompetent, unaccountable officiating) that drives me NUTS about college basketball - courts that are unsafe and/or don't allow for proper gameplay within the rules of the game.

Can you imagine the outcry if a Div1 school decided to place seats/billboards within a couple of feet of a football field of play? Oh the horror! But it's even worse with how basketball courts are treated because the out-of-bounds area is still part of the playing court for purposes shown in that photo! It's akin to shrinking the end zone of a football field by a couple of yards to make room for seats or ads. I can hear the marketers now, "It's fine, you have 8 whole yards for your endzone still!"

Until someone with clout (NCAA, a group of Div1 schools, etc) decides to take college basketball seriously by standardizing the game with regard to courts and officiating, the sport will struggle to reach its potential.

For me, Kansas has been sliding every year in terms of a threat to Kentucky. Great, they'll probably win their superbowl against us when we have to play at Phog and deal with home cooking.. I don't expect such a young Kentucky team to win many road games right now, anyways, especially off of a F4 year..

But what next Kansas? Because Kentucky will be fine, and is trending way up. On the other hand, you have zero recruits coming in, and are virtually eliminated from having a top5 class. In actuality, you have a lot of ground to make up even to have a top15 class, not to mention 90% of the leftovers are duplicate positions in C and SF. You need Jackson AND Bolden even to contend. If you happen to miss both, you won't even have a top25 class...

Then, you lose 4 seniors, but only two really even matter, Ellis and to a lesser extent Traylor. But what about Selden, Mason? Will the freshman stay, despite Self's best attempts to keep them back?

You guys are looking good this year, sure. But you can't be too happy, and must be a little nervous for the next few years.

Call me when we get nobody in 2017, then I'll be concerned. The only starters we are losing are Perry Ellis and Hunter Mikelson.

Again, Traylor, but he's replaceable.

You confident you'll return Selden? Diallo? I'm not so sure about either. I think you'll see Skal return before those two.

I'd be a little concerned. If 2016 stays the same, Kansas has no one to build off of. They'll need to grab transfers. And if you botch up 2017, you're in a world of trouble. Even if 2017 works, you'll have a very young team to work it. Not many coaches can handle that, even Cal has trouble at times.
