Anybody know what's up with these guys? Spring practice is winding down and these guys, and a few others, have had nary a mention. I do recall Stoops mentioning Firios may be dinged. Anyway, I'm just curious as many thought these players would at least add depth. Assuming injury rehab but really don't know. Appreciate any info. TIA.

Just because someone isn't standing out or being mentioned in the spring doesn't mean they will not add depth.

I never implied otherwise, I was just wondering about the status of these players.

Frios has returned from an injury and I've heard he's looked good.

Good. One of the players who seemed very promising when signed.

Firios and Krok have been hurt. Middleton and Dubose very green but have a shot at playing time. Hytchye and Hendrix buried on the depth chart. All are good players but top to bottom this is the most competitive Kentucky roster since Claiborne and Curci days. Firios will be a key player in the fall.

Thanks for the info.

Stoops mentioned Hendrix positively in the last practice, a little small perhaps for ILB, but he's a RS Frosh unlike the Jr to be Hytchye.

Hendrix is a good player, but Kentucky's roster is deeper and more competitive than it has been in a while. Hendrix has been running behind Forrest and Firios. If or when Courtney Love gains eligibility, he may play ahead of Hendrix too. The mention of Hendrix by Stoops followed a practice that Firios say out with an injury.

just going by how we recruited last year and this year and listening to stoops talk about still being multiple... i think we try to run with 2 ilb'er types, 1 olb'er, and 1 de/olb'er hybrid against run teams and then just move an extra s/olb'er in for one of those ilb's if we play a spread team. hendrix, firios, and love will all play a bunch next year. really doesn't matter who is 1 or 2. this year, forrest and flannigan are gonna get a whole lot of snaps anyway. it is great to have depth and talent finally though. and i do think firios is gonna end up being a stud. when was the last time we had more than a couple good lb'ers?

The fact that these 6 outstanding SEC caliber players are not starting shows exactly what Stoops has been doing with recruiting since his arrival.

Under our previous coach, at least 4 of these mentioned players would be sure fire starters.

CMS is a miracle worker. He is building our team into a force to be reckoned with in the SEC annually unlike most all of us UK football fans have ever seen.

Time will tell if Hendrix is an SEC ILB, but he's a hitter so he certainly should help on special teams.
