Me? My point is linking to his production. A fr who saw mostly ST reps transfers prior to anyone able to draw reasonable conclusions either way.A true freshman that played. What’s your point?
You’re right. There’s no consistency from fans we want the rosiest picture painted. If a guy has only been at a school one year, I think his high school ranking is still somewhat relevant but not totally. If he’s been there more than one year I don’t care about his high school ranking at all. Just tell me what he did in collegeWe lose a 4* freshman with pedestrian stats and we’re tempted to say “not a major loss.”
We pursue a former 5* DL transfer who had total of 4 tackles last year and say, “he’ll make us better.”
Funny how that works.
Apples and oranges, short term a defense lineman is worth more than a safety for Kentucky’s team right nowWe lose a 4* freshman with pedestrian stats and we’re tempted to say “not a major loss.”

It is kind of hard to say Albert is a big loss when he is leaving because other players are ahead of him on the depth chart. The big development in our secondary this year was the emergence of Jordan Lovett, who looks like a future all conference player. Zion Childress played well too. What I liked most about Childress is that he is a sure tackler. Vito Tisdale and Jalen Geiger will also be back. So I can see what Albert is thinking. Albert has talent, but he is small for an SEC safety. If he could play on the corner or in the slot, he might have had more of an opportunity.Another big loss to the portal.
That’s what I thought. But I seem to be hearing of players being ruled eligible for their second and third transfer.Keep in mind that there is only one "free" transfer.
Maybe. I think if you really want to get a kid eligible no matter how many times he’s transferred you can. Bru McCoy transferred 3 times in his first 3 years and had no issues. JT Daniels has transferred what 4 times and never sat out.Keep in mind that there is only one "free" transfer. The winners maybe the teams that grab young portal players. Those kids either stick or loose sit for a year. I would guess their NIL $ would greatly decrease upon a second transfer. Hope the staff use good judgement in their portal offerings.
Yes, maybe. From what I can tell, the new rule only allows one free transfer under the new rule. A transfer that occured under the old waiver rule does not appear to count as the one transfer the new rule allows. A graduate transfer also does not appear to count as the one transfer the new rule allows.Maybe. I think if you really want to get a kid eligible no matter how many times he’s transferred you can. Sucks but we are loaded at safety.
Your 50+, like me. Probably older than me, but I guess I figured it out before the Beatles reference. 😁We're so sorry Uncle Albert
JT Daniels is about to transfer to his fourth school. The NCAA is approving anything and everything. They are powerless and Emmert has a foot out the door so he could care less.Keep in mind that there is only one "free" transfer. The winners maybe the teams that grab young portal players. Yup, not sure anyone would get it but I just couldn't help myself.Your 50+, like me. Probably older than me, but I guess I figured it out before the Beatles reference. 😁
I used to think recruiting was just as much fun as the season.
Now I don't even pay attention. I mean why bother? Just last year we were biting our nails and sweating out the decisions of Goodwin and Albert and a year later they're already gone, without contributing much of anything. Guess I'll get more excited about the portal instead.
We're so sorry Uncle Albert
Ditto I'm going to wait till I have to Spring practice then see what our roster looks like. It is a complete waste of time, at least for me, to do otherwiseAgreed.
I, too, really need to not bother with any of it. It's becoming tedious and more like the movement on our basketball roster. When I look at the time involved over the past year, I just don't have that kinda time going forward.
We have, 8 safties on the roster i do believe. Only losing Ajian that contributed i believe. Plus adding Vito back i think they'll be jusy fine in the short termThe kettle's on the boil and we're so eas'ly drawn away...
........
Yeah, this sucks, cause to me we're not that deep at S. We got dangerously thin at that position last season. This kid played in 10 games, so he had experience, but what can be done?
I love having players thatcan play either S position, but ideally you'd like a 2 deep of guys that are very well suited specifically to FS and SS. Maybe I'm just old school and those days and differences don't exist anymore.
Maybe this is just how negotiations for NIL are going to go from here forward.
We gotta have something to do since the basketball season is pretty much over.Ditto I'm going to wait till I have to Spring practice then see what our roster looks like. It is a complete waste of time, at least for me, to do otherwise

I've been hearing Miss. St. has been struggling with NIL too so I don't know if that's the reason. With the depth we have at S, he probably would've been 3rd string this year.Seeing it reported elsewhere that Kobi has committed to Mississippi State. I have to believe this is about getting more playing time and NIL, etc,
No hard feelings towards the young man; I wish him the best except when we play against State.
Yes, I edited my post. Agree that barring injury or a blowout game he probably wasn’t going to get much playing time here.I've been hearing Miss. St. has been struggling with NIL too so I don't know if that's the reason. With the depth we have at S, he probably would've been 3rd string this year.
Albert is not a big loss, because he would not have been on our two deep chart next season and he knew that. He has potential, because he can run. But he was in a system at Kentucky that requires safeties to stick their noses up on the box and occasionally blitz the quarterback. I watched Albert when he got into games. IMO, he is too small to be a starting SEC safety. When Albert was in high school, some schools wanted him as a playmaker for their passing game. I still think that might be his future.Another big loss to the portal.
