Kentucky vs Indiana 1979 (Cawood radio sync)

Agreed. I think the early to mid 80s was the apex for college basketball. No longer a regional sport, fully integrated, the kind of crazy athleticism which in earlier years would've been pretty special/unique in a given player became more widespread and common, and it was before that same athleticism led to a decrease in skill level. Now, with one and done, you have yet another factor that lessens overall quality. That was a special time, likely never to be seen again....
It is a good feeling to know that there are still people around that understand this, someday not too long off there won't be. Cawood on the call is like an extra benefit, but for us Cat fans it was just part of the package, to have a voice on the radio be the embodiment of what a program like UK basketball is all about is almost unbelieveable

What a great series/rivalry this used to be. How the Cats ended IU's Undefeated season in '75 and damn near did it again the following season if not for a lucky Benson tip in to send it to OT where IU eventually won. The Maul at the Hall remains my favorite game after the '75 ME Finals.
