Keep hearing this.......so it's time to make sure the $ is invested correctly and the talent shows up.
They're not really a player though. They have put out this information like it's some sort of confidence trick, but they're not actually involved in the high end of the market. Nobody knows if their $35m is available right away or over the next 50 years.Exactly. If someone was unaware sac state was an nil player, they definitely should avoid debating nil issues.

This is where we come back to knowing the terms of the money being talked about. UK's basketball budget of $8-10m+ is a one-year thing. Sacremento State is not spending the entirety of their budget in one year.
What indications? What evidence? If theyre making significant bids, which by all indication they are, then theyre at least driving up the costs.
Since Cal left, the big donors ponied up![]()
Kentucky Basketball reportedly has a massive NIL budget for 2025-26 roster
Should be a fun few weeks in Lexington.www.aseaofblue.com
Got to spend money to make money 💰 8 to 10 million
Ahhhh, this. I've been stating over and over that we have one of the most banked NIL funds, but some fans don't want their excuses to be thrown out the window. This only proves more that we should be getting some of these high-end recruits, let alone the massive exposure the university brings for these kids.![]()

Woah now, too much common sense for some on this board.I’m wondering if a Cooper Flagg type went to Pope and said, “Duke is offering $2.8 million, but I will go to UK for $3 million…” Does UK THEN spend the money that they are supposedly sitting on?
My point is, every other big time program has already went out and publicity flexed their NIL muscle…, except for UK!
That’s not up for debate! And that’s a bit concerning.
This isn't even coherent, yet you're insulting other fans for being level-headed and allowing the evidence to speak for itself. You don't get to insult others for not matching your level of delusion.. That's bizarre.Ahhhh, this. I'm not specifically referring to Dent. I'm referring to not getting any of the high-end recruits again this year like we did last year. We are playing with around the same money as all the other schools that don't seem to have a problem getting these kids to come. Is it realistic to get 5 of these elite recruits from the portal? Of course not. Is it realistic to get a couple? Of course it is. All I'm saying is we shouldn't be going into next year without any again next year. And yes, this is a valid and very coherent argument. It's not delusional for a Kentucky fan to expect Kentucky to get Kentucky caliber players. The evidence does indeed speak for itself. This isn't even coherent, yet you're insulting other fans for being level-headed and allowing the evidence to speak for itself. 8-10 million of which 2 million comes from revenue sharing. And most high-level transfers are asking for 2-3 million a piece. You have to pay the guys coming back out of that too so 8-10 million might sound like a lot but it's not really that much when other schools are forking out that 3 million to land players like Dent.
It's not overspending either. I keep seeing people labeling it that when when the market dictates what players are able to make based on demand. Coaches are making many times this that amount and theirs is mostly guaranteed.
I get this. Maybe I misunderstood the previous post. I couldn't make much of it. You are simply being given one variable: Kentucky's NIL budget. You're not factoring what the budgets of the teams competing for these players might be. You're not being unreasonable, but I feel like you didn't understand much of the post you're replying to.I'm not specifically referring to Dent. And Pope is the one that promised a couple of superstars from the portal. So either Pope can confirm all of this money we have in the portal, or is banking on himself to be a lethal recruiter. I'm just holding our coach to what he says. Again, not sure how I insulted any fans, which is hilarious, or spoke with delusion. This isn't even coherent, yet you're insulting other fans for being level-headed and allowing the evidence to speak for itself. Like I said, I think I misunderstood "some fans don't want their excuses to be thrown out the window." and thought you were dissing people who are actually being reasonable on here. Pope never should have said that and it seems to me he's just blowing smoke up fans' rear ends. And Pope is the one that promised a couple of superstars from the portal. I like you bro, as you've seemed like one of the more real posters on here. I was really thrown off-guard by your message to me, honestly, as me and you agree on most things. I didn't get why you were coming at me sideways lmao. I just say how I see things. All good though.I get this. Maybe I misunderstood the previous post. I couldn't make much of it. This. And it’s said we had the highest bid for Dent and UCLA matched it. So he chose to be closer to home.Kentucky has a lot of competition for players with deep pockets as well. Fans need to face the facts that it’s a new world in college sports.
Also, articles have stated that Kentucky has one of the highest NIL funds in CBB. So to me that factors other teams like your Dukes, UConns, etc.I get this. Maybe I misunderstood the previous post. I apologize. It was my bad. I jumped to conclusions without understanding what I read. All me, my guy.I like you bro, as you've seemed like one of the more real posters on here. No worries bro. I just didn't expect it from you. Like I said, me and you usually agree on most things.I apologize. It was my bad. I jumped to conclusions without understanding what I read. All me, my guy.
Those sites you're referring to you have a vested interest in keeping Kentucky fans invested in the program so you have to be careful what you believe from them. Always consider the source of everything you read and what their motivations might be.Also, articles have stated that Kentucky has one of the highest NIL funds in CBB. At least someone agrees with me! That's one! It means it's not all in vain.No worries bro. I just didn't expect it from you. Like I said, me and you usually agree on most things.
I already know, especially with all of the click-bait posts about some of these kids being locks for us lolThose sites you're referring to you have a vested interest in keeping Kentucky fans invested in the program so you have to be careful what you believe from them. I do wish there was more transparency with NIL. There really needs to be checks and balances with all this. Those sites you're referring to you have a vested interest in keeping Kentucky fans invested in the program so you have to be careful what you believe from them. I do too but you just have to look at the results and not what sources who have their own motivations are telling you. The proof is in the pudding as they say.I do wish there was more transparency so there was more checks and balances with NIL.
If this is true, that “Pope can’t close”, we cant expect much success in the portal, or going forward. What concerns me is that I keep reading that money isn't an issue.........yet we lose out on every single big fish we pursue. It worries me because perhaps pope just isn't a great salesman. Some people just can't close deals. We already know he has a super friendly demeanor. These people are typically easy to say no to. I could be wrong.
I am wondering why we haven’t got a big fish yet, but Im wondering if there has been back channelThe staff doesn’t act like this is the case….don’t believe we have won a single bidding war yet. I find it all rather puzzling. The only thing that kinda explains our behavior (and I’m totally guessing) is perhaps the coaches are worried about donations in future years and so they are being very financially prudent these first couples of years???
