Kentucky & Michigan For Gwath?

Watching Maluach at Duke and Chinyelu at Florida make me want us to do the same. Just crazy long, athletic rim protectors who rebound like crazy, dunk everything and protect the rim.

The problem is Mark Pope's offense makes that difficult, because guys like that typically can't run things like Pope needs them to up top.

The other problem is that both of those guys are 250 and 255 pounds respectively, and Gwath is only 205.
This is an issue with Popes offense. Usually the big guy that can pass and shoot isn't going to be a brawler down low or a big rim protector on defense. A 1-2 combo for match-ups would be great. But I can 💩 in one hand and wish in another 🤷

I doubt it’s much better. Big 10 schools love to play that up. Even if it were much better it isn’t as important as it once was in the new economy.
It’s in the top tier of public school for all post grad fields. For example, they are a top 14 law school (counting the Ivys) (they were 9th this year). T14 is the standard of “big law” and a nationally relevant JD. 15-30 is 2nd tier. And everything 30-150 is “regional law”

But none of that matters for an undergrad degree and is overplayed. Any major state school degree will open the same doors whether you’re top 20 or 55th (UK undergrad is typically 45-65 public institutions and Michigan’s undergrad is typically 20s)

I don't believe any of those weights any more than I believe Cooper Flagg is just 6'8" and 210 lbs. Players listed weights and heights are incredibly unreliable and even when accurate don't take into account that 2 players can be the same height and weight and one of the two much stronger due to genetics or prior injuries.

I think Pope and staff know who they want and are actually all in on and the media and fans are just guessing. Who we want and who the staff wants in most cases will be totally different animals.
I think this is a dangerous mindset u less the guys Pope wants are true difference makers, dudes who can play and compete at the highest level.

The top teams in the SEC have these types of guys. Pope has to get at least a couple of transfer guys who are true studs.

It’s about competing for an NCAA title going forward, and the roster should reflect that.

I hear you but it doesn’t really matter for law school either. Work for yourself. That’s the money.

It matters if you’re trying to do the traditional “big corporate law” route, internships, and maybe politics.

But yeah, the true big money is learning the law firm ropes for 3-5 years and then starting your own firm. Higher risk/higher reward. But the reward ceiling is reallllyy high

You can’t teach height. If the player has a good iq and work ethic everything else can be taught.

Players learn to make passes , it’s more about making reads .

Plus big guys take longer to develop since their coordination lags comparing to shorter guys.

So , yes to this guy! Also I like Cyril from Georgia.

Let's be honest, he's better than Garrison right now. Garrison regressed in about every category from his freshman to sophomore season and expecting him to take a big leap next year seems like a stretch. Gwath is skinny, but his shot-blocking numbers speak for themselves. Plus he can handle the ball/take people off the dribble and hit 3s at a pretty good clip. None of which Garrison has shown. Hate to rip on him, but it's the truth.
Statistically, Garrison’s year was about the same as last year, based on PER 40, but he did shoot threes this season under Pope.

I remember when Pitino wanted Chris Webber and it was down to KY and MICH.
Webber took the $250,000 and signed with Michigan. This one may boil down to the money again.

I would've hoped that the KSR crew would've learned to keep their mouths shut before anything is made official. Just setting this staff up to be raked over the coals if their "predictions" or "guarantees" don't pan out, and for what reason?
wish they would keep their mouths shut
they seem to be a jinx
