Kentucky "Involved With" Princeton PG Xaivian Lee

It would be very easy for him to go back and finish his degree at Princeton after next year. good grief 🤣 🤣

If the degree was the main factor, he'd just, you know, STAY at f***ing PRINCETON LOL
Don't know the degree of the transfer, if the transfer can still continue education from prior schools? I assume the player's record has been transferred to new school.

Kind of sounds like you probably have a Duke hoodie in your closet.

Be honest; you DO, don't you. 🤣
Welcome to the UK board Mr Duke Fan. It's nice to have you....well not really but I am trying really hard to be more hospitable these days.

Whatever you think

I am not duke fan, never will be

I just think he is more likely to go to a better academic school. What's wrong with that?

Likes of Duke, Michigan will have good academic education and still be competitive for tournament...
Many players want to go to Duke even accepting limited roles...
I know but just saying in UK's favor trying to think positive and think National Championship next year. Even if players want to go to Duke the most they can have is 15 players so after that players have got to go somewhere else.

But in reality, just look at Duke’s roster this year — they have top talent at every position, something most other teams simply can’t match. Duke seems to have endless money and endless support from all directions. If it’s a 15-man roster, there’s definitely room for someone like Xavier Lee to earn a starting or rotation spot. This season, Duke has guys like Gills and Brown — players who could be starters at other Power 5 schools — willingly accepting bench roles just to chase a championship.

I do not say he will 100% end up DUKE (or UNC or Mich), I just expect these better academic schools are more likely destinations

For all of these PGs (specifically) I also want to know how good they are defensively. Did he make his conference All-Defensive team?

Can we get him and Pierre? If we get those 2, AF with Williams and maybe Bol Bol or other defensive big or PF we should be set.

So if he has a “do not contact” as previously reported, this means he reached out to us. Wonder who else he’s reached out to?
The “do not contact” definitely seems to be being used differently.

Used to suggest the kid knows where he wants to go.

Now it’s just, I’ll have my agent handle it and talk to the few that make sense from there.

Pope, either have the check written, or don’t waste your time! This guy is going to command $1.5 million to slightly above, depending on the suitors.

At some point, if Pope knows he’s not going to be able to spend the money, he just needs to keep moving forward with his plan.

Going after big time prospect after big time prospect, only to lose out every time, could potentially hurt his credibility.

This is a kid we need to go all in on, watched him play a couple times and think he is one of the best in the portal even better then Smith. He is from Canada and KY has had pretty good luck with Canadians.

But WHY were they the faves?

I don't get it.
Not sure why I would jump into a hornets nest on Friday afternoon but here goes:

NIL and various things aside, why did Fox, Monk, and Bam come to Kentucky instead of, say, Arkansas at that time? Because the program was a destination program. Players wanted to be at UK over most programs. Fast forward to today and these players are headed to the hot programs: Auburn, UConn, Bama and of course Puke.

That is to say our program fell off for some reason. Pope will get it back in time, but somehow our program was damaged and we are where we are. I truly believe this past year was a sign of us rising from the ashes but we have a ways to go. We were damaged.

Get this kid in a wildcat uniform today. Would be a great pickup.

And the person that caused the damage is now at Arkansas doing his thing.

Is this kid SEC worthy? Playing in the Ivy League and playing in the SEC is quite a big difference. He's going to be facing the best athletes in the country.

The biggest reference here is Broome. Morehead competition is not much better. So yeah, it's possible. No, not all are Johni but kids on that level can compete.

So automatically every player in the world just loves UK basketball, would want to play for UK basketball?

Hopefully we all understand there are as many out there that would never, ever play for UK as that would play for UK. They might take a call, get in a bidding war just to go to the place they like with more $$ in their pocket.

Perhaps you hadn’t noticed, but transfers from piddlin little mid-majors have recently been dominating the SEC (see Johni Broome, Dalton Knecht, Chaz Lanier, Grant Nelson, Walter Clayton, Jr., Mark Sears, etc.).

Did you think they were “SEC worthy” when recruited?

We need to start getting some commitments. I'm not sure what strategy Pope has been using this portal season, but he needs to scrap it and come up with a different strategy. Whatever he is selling, portal enterers aren't buying.

Have we ever had an Asian player? I hope he has an effect like linsanity, his tape makes him look tailor made for popes offense.
