These are "top 100 kids" for those of you who want Cal to bring in more of those and still expect to win 30+ games every season.
You guys do realize they may be preseason #1 next year, right ?Same thing I was thinking. This is considered Pitino's best at UL and unheralded Alexander is running circles around them.
Almost all of UL's recruiting class is in this game including Malik Williams, the highest rated player in the game. Shai is on a different level than UL's entire class. So I'm cool with that.
Louisville fans better be praying Mitchell and Adel return because their guys don't look like much.
I'd take Hollingworth over Smith. TH is a poor mans Sexton.

Not taking Hollingsworth when Cal knew we'd lose six guards still puzzles me. As a junior Hollingsworth out scored prime target John Petty in a game.

Smith does not seem like an all star game type player. He obviously has not been in this area of basketball judging by the lack of mix tapes he has of him. I think he want the ball in his hands and likes to run a half court set. This up and down contest of flash just isn't his thing
That's the point I was trying to make. With six guard slots open, and two Kentucky kids graduating, he should have gotten an early offer.

Kind of resembled Dakota Euton who ended up playing at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Went to the game. Shai has incredible pace and ability to pick his spots. Played a very complete game. I was highly impressed. For a guy who has sort of been slept on in this class, i am very excited to have him. This guy will be a fan favorite. Very poised. Deals great with pressure. Always under control. Doesnt force it. Great in transition. Won the 3 pt contest. He is the real deal

You could say that if this was the Mcdonald's game but this was much lower comp and Smith still wasn't one of the top 5 or 6 guards in the game. Just not UK good imo. Should go to Creighton or or Wichita.

I dont understand Hollingsworht thinking. If your good enough your going to play. He chose WKU because of minutes, fine but are you good enough to play at UK or not? Cal dose not guarantee nor favor his 5 stars more than any other player, contrary to some folks ridiculous conspiratorial thinking.
In this game and the hoops summit , Shai Giggles has played like a true 5 star .

3rd best is that if we get Smith.... he looks to be a solid player already with good potential for down the road. Loved the way he barely got any shots or passes to him but still passed off for assists when the ball found its way in his hands
He's better than Hawkins and Willis as freshmen.
If people want some 4 year guys at the end of the bench with a chance to play later on... then Smith is a perfect candidate

Would agree with you if Smith was a KY kid. Just think he will be like Matthews and Poole. Really believe we got the better player wrapped up in Baker. Don't believe that Smith is close to Hawkins athletically. Hawk had highest vert on team. Smith did rebound and pass tonight but it was obvious that he couldn't get by anyone and we know that Cal won't screen for you so you better be able to get your shot.
Some kids don't want to come to U.K. While there are some spots next year, he would continuously be recruited over.
