That's where ALL of these guys were playing last year.
Most would say Mark Pope was handed sandbags, fence posts, and hotdog water and he turned it into a Sweet 16 team.

Mark Pope through this team together in like a month....with no staff or organized NIL program.
We had 2 guys in Robinson/Kerr who started plenty in power conferences....they're hurt. Butler who was the only one with real NCAA experience basically had one shoulder. I mean Chandler wasn't even playing basketball the last 2 years and Perry/Noah were playing Jimmy Jack and Joe Bob in rural Kentucky gyms.

Pope kept this team together and we were the #11 overall seed and made the Sweet 16. They set a record for most wins over top 15 teams. We did that playing the toughest schedule in UK history....no UK team has come close to playing a schedule like this...and it was our least talented team in maybe 30+ years.

I want titles and Final Fours are the standard here and I know it's "NO MORAL VICTORIES AT KENTUCKY!" but f*** that tonight. We were dead inside after that plumber from Oakland hit all those shots last year. We were talking about boycotting games and not giving to NIL....the energy is back. This year was a moral victory because the morale of BBN is higher than ever.

We'll have a lot more talent next year...great freshman, returning stud and rotation guys, and looking like a strong portal haul....but that's next year. This team was fun and we have a bright future.

Until next fall GO BIG BLUE!
