End of 8: Kentucky 4, Alabama 2. Cats looking for some insurance runs as they attempt to salvage a win in Tuscaloosa.
Great outing by Lewis there, had one pop fly that the wind blew out of the yard. Batter threw his bat lol. Exactly what an experienced pitcher can give you.
Our batting average with the bases loaded has to be pretty terrible. Still, we did get one hit that scored another run. 5-2

Think for the weekend our avg was@ .200 w/risp. Not good. Pitching was plenty good enough
A tale of two weekends on the road in the SEC. Bats were decent a few weekends ago against Arkansas but pitching was terrible. Pitching was decent this weekend but hitting terrible.
Good to see Lewis pitch well and UK salvage one win this weekend. No doubt about it, the Cats' backs are against the wall at this point as they've dug themselves a sizeable hole to climb out of early in SEC play. Not much room for error, as they must start stacking up wins in SEC play if they want to have anywhere near the type of season they and we all hoped for just a few weeks ago. Hopefully they regroup for the UofL game, get a quality start from Harper, and get the offense back on track.
If they don’t sweep a weekend series, I’m afraid it will be difficult to get over the hump. Losing yesterday was an absolute dagger.

The 13 LOB is not our largest number of the year. We had 16 against South Carolina-Upstate. The average for the weekend speaks a lot about the lack of timely hitting. It seems like we are getting tight whereas last year, we seemed cut loose. We did have a lot LOB last year also, though, a product of having so much offense. I guess you can't leave them on if you don't get them on, but the bases-loaded trouble sure does leave a lot of runs.
