Is anybody else worried that we just offered another QB for the 2016? Seems like Kendall is likely to make his decision here soon and everything I've heard has been positive for UK. Unless Stoops and company want to add 2 QBs because of our depth there.

You have to keep fishing in that QB lake until you snag one before you say, "I got my limit".

I don't think we have much of a chance with this QB. He is a de committ from Va. Tech. many big time schools interested. One just never knows.

I'd be more worried if we weren't recruiting other QB's...

I don't like the idea of letting one kid hold us hostage.

Kendall knows how bad Stoops wants him...

If he wants the spot on the roster, it there for the taking.

You nailed it Von. I like that we are broadening the recruiting base of the QB position, and the fact that we are sending a message by doing so is a good thing IMO.

Dawson was recruiting this guy for WVU so he's very familiar with him. If Kendall is serious about coming to UK maybe this builds a little more pressure to commit sooner than later. We've been all in on him for a while now I'm sure he understands how badly we need a QB (it's a big part of why he loves the situation at UK so much) so he has to know that the staff has to protect itself. I'm glad we have another viable 4 star option if AK goes elsewhere. I was starting to wonder how far the gap was between Kendall and our backup plan since we haven't recruited anyone else seriously to this point

Nothing against Sihiem King, I actually really like his game, but last year taught this staff a really valuable lesson.

Recruits may pretend that it means something to them that you are "all in" on them, but continuing to recruit other players at their position has almost ZERO negative affect on their decision. Every other big time school does it annually with every top recruit that they are "all in" on.

AK is a very talented recruit and we cannot afford to have him as our only QB recruit. If a decent level P5 school offers him a starting job from day 1, it wouldn't shock me AT ALL if he jumped right on that opportunity, no matter the school.

Patrick Towles being a JR instead of a SR has kept AK from recruiting to us already, IMO.

^I think our coaches already knew that valuable lesson, which is why they already had King in the fold.

I agree. There was no lesson to be learned last year. These guys know what they are doing. We were going to take one RB last year and after Dawson was hired he had a couple of RB that could play and we could recruit if Harris went to Bama. He did and hence we sign King. QB is a little more tricky because that's a position you want to try and lock up sooner than later. If Kendall waits until early summer to commit to someone we will continue to offer QB's and the first one that pops then it's done. I think we take one this year maybe two if we don't get Kendall .

While that may be true for most positions it isn't so much for qb, qb don't rotate like other positions. they take pratically every snap as long as the ones are playing. FSU and UT are about the only places who accepted multiple qb commits last year, UT already changed one of their positions, FSU lost one of their qb commits before signing day. UGA has never recruited more than 1 qb per class since Richt got there. Bridgewater pratically begged for an offer but Richt had another qb higher, a big miss by the way, and didn't recruit him. The only year we took more than 1 was when Arron Murray came in and a lady who worked in the athletic office had a son who came in with him, but later transferred, Zach Mettenberger. QBs don't like coming in with multiple qbs, and is one of the main reasons they like to commit early so the dominoes can fall and 2 or more top guys don't end up at the same place. Either one of these kids is a very good prospect, the kid who decommitted from WV is probably a better fit for Dawson's offense while Kendall is probably the better passer of the two, but either one would be a great pickup. Of course everyone wants the kid ranked highest, but that isn't always the best fit.

agree with most of that except kendall is so accurate that in any air raid system, he's gonna move the chains and rack completions/yards. i think any air raid guy would take accuracy over any other attribute and that is where many of us have been sold with kendall.
