Keith Olbermann DESTROYS Bobby Petrino

It is funny stuff.

Is administration going to finish the political speech purge here, or do we always leave a token shot at the left laying around?

From Olbermanns twitter.

Rankings of my recent Twitter trolls:
1) NASCAR (dumb but committed)
2) Penn State (rationalizing but committed)
459) Louisville (just sad)

Nice piece about Paul Petrino @ Idaho staying committed to a player with career ending tumor.
Can't believe they are even from the same womb.

Just awesome he came back a second day in a row and carpet bombed Petrino, UL, and their awful fans

I also think it's funny/sad how the guys/girls announcing the UL games never bring up the past of some of these play makers that thrive there. I'm sure their fans watching/listening don't want to hear that but it should be mentioned from time to time just as a reminder what kind of players are allowed and encouraged to play for UL. Everybody makes mistakes and most deserve a second chance but at UL it seems like it doesn't matter if you're on your 10th chance or 30th. If you're not behind bars and can play they will take any and all that have the talent.

If I had a daughter I would escort her everywhere she went, if she went to UL. Hell I'd probably do it with my son too lol. It's the national media and the donors/fans fault for allowing their program to turn into this. I love certain parts of the city of Louisville.

As much as people like to hate on UL (myself included), the city of Louisville is part of KY and is our greatest city and can be an awesome place. I've had some great memories/times there and lived there for a bit and loved it. It's hard to separate it sometimes but the city of Louisville is not the university of Louisville. And the city and state deserve better than some of the guys BP (and by extension Jurich) is bringing in there.

Sure it's nice to win, but winning like that has its costs and the city doesn't deserve that danger and reputation. Besides I think UL could win without taking all of these trouble makers by pushing the ACC and accentuating the positive things that the university and state have to offer. But it's not gonna happen that way as long as BP is the head man there.

IMO, from an outsiders perspective, because of the type of person he is, he can't, for the most part, recruit the Bridgewater (I realize he was part of the Hurtt "pipeline") type of kids in large numbers do he goes the gutter route. Say what you want but Bridgewater was nothing but respectful and a great leader while he was there and has continued that in the NFL. BP has major baggage and is cut throat and selfish enough that most parents and recruits see through him.

The thing is though he was blessed with a great offensive (in both meanings of the term) mind and for a recruit it's hard to pass up being assured some success, at least offensively and a chance to play for a program that you know will win some games because your Coach can out scheme the competition. No matter how much of a scum bag you know he is, rather than going to somewhere like UK where success is not assured (but promising) but you know you are playing for a decent person that will hold you accountable and try to make you a better man.

I know where I would encourage my kid to go because football only lasts so long but the leadership and guidance you receive by your coach in college can and does last a life time. That's not to say all UL commits are bad kids or will be scummy adults but being led by BP sure doesn't set a good example.

The best thing that could happen to UL is for another slip up by Petrino so that those in power can get rid of him (and, not likely, but Jurich too), weed out the really bad dudes and keep those that just made a bad mistake at some point and try to find somebody that can coach/out scheme but with a little integrity he can take on the recruiting road with him so he doesn't get kicked out of high schools and get in motorcycle wrecks with "assistants".

If I were a UL fan that's what I would want but I am not so I hope they keep BP, he alienates as many HS coaches as possible, struggles in recruiting and when after a couple years the Strong recruits are gone, leave them high and dry and they have to rebuild as cellar dwellers in the ACC. That would be my best case scenario as a UK fan.

But yeah, kudos to Olberman. Whether you like him or not has no bearing on if he is right. And he was definitely right in this case. I feel sorry for those of you that let your political beliefs get in the way of the truth. That's a lot of what is wrong with this country but I will stop there because that's for another thread and would make me just as bad as the people who only believe what fox news tells you to believe LOL.

Tim Sullivan of the C-J has taken a pretty strong stance against what Petrino and Louisville did to the kid in a column from today.
And a few hundred will read it.... I quit subscribing to the CJ a few years ago and know of many others who have done the same.
I do feel TJ/UofL work hard to control the message regarding all forms of media expression in this area. At times they are less successful than at others doing so (+1 Tim Sullivan) ... As long as CBP wins games he'll be treated favorably here in Louisville and be paid handsomely for his work... I still can't believe he got hired there... Very risky move by Jurich, and one full of potential downside, my opinion.... Downside like VERY BAD PRESS.... Name me one coach in College Football people would love to see fail more than Pitrino? Name me one College Football Coach as despised as Pitrino, who wears the name of the City/State he represents on a hat? Then there's that basketball guy :)

i don't know if the following link is hot or not. i haven't figured everything out with my ipad yet, but it's an interview from oct with mike zimmer about his very pointed opinion of roadrash petrino. i just happened across it. it's very funny. i get the feeling zimmer would like to bitch slap bobby.

Agree, I had to force myself to watch that video with Olbermann, can't stand the guy but he made valid points this time.

The sad part about all this is by next weekend, everyone will have forgotten this and UL will make out just fine. People have a short attention span and honestly UL isn't important enough on a national level for national writers to keep this at the forefront. They have much more important stuff to cover.

And local media is to afraid of Jurich to question anything.

Just think about the last few things UL has been implicated in. Who covered it first? It's always been national writers. Local writers will only cover it after national guys have been all over it.
Unfortunately, you are correct. This will be forgotten. Just like when they signed Willie Williams or Michael Dyer. The only thing that matters to Loserville is winning on the field. I live in Louisville and constantly have to hear this bullshit all the time.

Bobby's a changed man, everyone deserves a second chance, it was just a misunderstanding, blah, blah, blah.

It's really simple. That POS took away a scholarship from a kid who by all accounts was a good student, a good athlete and obviously loyal and gave it to a woman beating POS (who got kicked out of TCU) b/c he is a better athlete. That's all anyone needs to know.

God, I despise Petrino, Jurich and that entire football program. If there was any justice they would go winless in 2015 starting with a curb-stomping compliments of Auburn.

FWIW, I'm glad somebody who has a national audience called out these cheating sons of bitches so others can see what I've witnessed for far too many years now.

Like him or not, but Matt Jones stays all over these kind of things concerning the two slime ball coaches they have over there ...He also was all over the stuff with Behanan and the kid that broke his leg long before they were both finally dismissed from the team...Tom Jurich hates him and that is enough for me
