KD Not Amused at Manning's Attempt at Humor

Says the dude that hitched his noodle arm to the Denver Broncos.

I mean, sure.
the Colts released him after he lost a season because of the spinal fusion surgery to make way for Andrew Luck. and Denver wasn't really a contender before that. but other than the situations being completely different, they're exactly the same.

The only thing different is Durant received finals MVP and Peyton was lucky to have the leagues beat defense on his team

The situation with Denver and Manning is nothing like KD and the Warriors. Denver wasn't even in the picture for a championship and Manning went there and set records and had one of the best seasons a QB can have after a major surgery. It wasn't like Denver had knocked Manning out of the playoffs the year before and he decided since he can;t beat them he would join them.

KD is a frontrunner. There is no argument to the contrary.

Yeah, but he signed with a really good team. According to yall, teaming up is bad. I mean Kevin Durant is wrong dor wanting to play fun team ball and win. Why couldn't he sign with the Jags?

This is yalls argument, not mine.

Peyton picking Denver was, of course, a move to a team that could win a title. But that's where the similarities end.

The Colts released Manning.. he was old.. and he had a severe injury to the neck which would end most people's careers at that age. Not the same ad KD.

To me, they're exactly the same. If you're grown, you can work and play wherever you want. Life is short, be happy, so what if it makes haters mad.

So what are the rules for what team a guy can choose to work for?
1. They're not allowed to go to good teams with good records.

2. They're not allowed to have an announcement that raises money for the Boys and Girls Club.

3. They're not allowed to "teamup" and play with their friends.

What else am I missing?

This is the worst take ever. Peyton Manning in 2013 had the most dominating season as a QB in NFL history. Shattered the previous passing touchdown record, passing yard record and had the most dominating offense ever. And that was with a running game that should have been much better than it actually was. Sure the Seahawks whipped that ass in the SB, but to say he had a noodle arm is bullshit.

Not at all comparable. The Broncos weren't considered serious Super Bowl contenders before Manning signed with them. The Warriors were a NBA record 73 winning team prior to Durant signing with them
Tennessee was when Manning picked them over Ole Miss.

Kevin Durant was Finals MVP.

There's dozens of reasons it's different..

#21.. going to a rival, a team that was beating you. It would be like Manning going to the Pats.
#22.. end of his career.
#23.. he won with the Colts already.
#24.. he was on the colts for, what, twice a long?

ANd so on..

#25.. Peyton didn't throw shade at players who were joining up a few years prior.
#26.. Bronco's had a clear need for QB with Tebow.
#27.. OKC clearly wanted KD around. Where as the Colts were ready to move on with Luck..

Right. Two entirely different situations. Manning was basically forced out. Durant just chose to leave. IMO, he's a sellout.

The 4 years prior to Manning joining the Broncos: 7-9, 8-8, 8-8, 8-8 (1 playoff appearance, 1-1 record)

Manning's 4 years with the Broncos
13-3 - 4,659 yds 37 TDs - 1st team All-Pro, 2nd MVP voting (0-1 playoffs)
13-3 - 5,477 yds 55 TDs - 1st team All-Pro, MVP (5th) (2-1 playoffs)
12-4 - 4,727 yds 39 TDs - (0-1 playoffs)
12-4 - 2,249 yds 9 TDs (3-0 playoffs)

There is simply no comparison between the Broncos before and after Manning joined. His "noodle arm" only applies to his final year. I don't think that is disputable. But Manning was an All-Pro, MVP, and Pro Bowler during his first 3 seasons with the Broncos. And as was mentioned before, his team cut him so he had to find a new team to play for. If he just wanted to the easiest path to a title, he chose very poorly.

Durant better be prepared for these kind of jokes and talk, because it is all true. He was free to do what he wanted and join the Warriors but the Warriors were already the best team in the league...comparing the Broncos before Manning to the Warriors is a joke. Manning took them to another level and during his twilight years! Durant maybe an elite player in history but he definitely sacraficed his legacy some by joning the Warriors. Plus, he was so close (and should have) beaten the Warriors in the Western Finals the Year before, the Thunder choked away that series

So if KD had been on OKC longer and won a title in OKC he could've gone to whatever team he wanted as long as he didn't have a press conference? I'm not a hater so I'm trying to learn the rules.

Manning didn't win anything in Denver other than riding coattails to that one Super Bowl when he couldn't play. Durant was Finals MVP.
