Kash Daniel on Tom Leach Radio Show This Morning

All I know is UK has to be able to sign players like Kash and Harris out of the state of Kentucky if we ever want to climb the SEC. It will be a real smack in the face if Kash goes to SC. Just like Harris.

It's really hard for me to envision a Mountain boy going anywhere but Kentucky. Would be shocked if he went elsewhere.

So he was on campus today? Is that a good sign or was he brought in for a last ditch effort to sway him to UK?
Hope it's the former!

Has to be a good sign. He's been so tight lipped the whole time why come to campus say I'm not coming?

Sounds like this is a "ok coach I'm in. Now what can I do to help out right now? What do I need to do this summer and fall to get to campus early and start competing? "

He might go some where else but these posters that talk to a friend or relative that says UK is a slight lead or slightly behind crack me up.Do people really think this kid talks to the whole town and tells them where he will be going but not say anything to the press.Think about what you say before you say it.

What worries me is that he said that the most important factor is academics. It's well known he wants to study criminal justice. UK doesn't offer an criminal justice degree, but South Carolina does.

Under that fearful scenario, why would he visit UK today?

I hope he comes to UK, why would you wear UK gear all the time growing up and then go somewhere else, just saying I think he comes to Kentucky, the two other highest ranked players are in the state are coming. Come on down Kash and be part of something special, there is nothing like the pride of playing for your home state.

Didn't Harris do the same thing with wearing UK gear? With that said I hope that Kash isn't just playing games like Harris did. If what he said was right about deciding on Alabama during his visit to the Iron Bowl then he just used UK to get tickets to football and basketball games for the next couple of months. That just wasn't cool in my books.

South Carolina is going to crash & burn this season. Everyone knows Superior will be retired after this year, and I fully expect his team to play as though he already has. Hell even the hotshot QB recruit who just committed already said Superior leaving would not change his commitment, it is the worst kept secret in the south.

so, long story short, why would Kash go to a sinking ship knowing it is likely he wouldn't even play for that defensive coordinator or position coach after the change?

All visiting athletes put on the local jersey during their trip. How in the world can anyone conflate that with game playing? I hope Daniel decides to play for Kentucky, but the decision is his. It is really goofy for people to act like he is playing games.

Harris played UK like a fiddle. He had no intention of ever going to UK, but used them for every perc and bit of attention he could get.

LOL! You can assign whatever motives you wish. I don't have as much suspicion about the motives of an 18 year old as you do. Harris acted no differently from the way thousands of other high school athletes behave. They get 5 visits. He took his visits and made his decision. The rest is just the fallout. You can never make everyone happy.

No. DA is right on this one...Harris knew after the iron bowl...yet he continued to string UK along...even the day before his announcement on social media retweeting fans excited about him joining the BBN.

Going out of state to a traditional power or staying in state for a rebuild job are completely different - he knew what he wanted to do for a long time.

Harris was the one who said his mind was made up after the Iron Bowl and he did continue to string along UK and it's fans. I found it in very poor taste just like you.

I'm very impressed that you can read the mind of a teenager and determine his motives from afar, based on news reports. That's quite a skill to have. Most people I know can't tell what a teenager is thinking when he or she lives under their own roof. But even if you were right, that is the way thousands of teenage athletes behave every year. And what difference does it make? They have a right to their own college decision, and they make it. Some people will be happy, other people will be unhappy. You can never please everyone. We have the players we have. Harris isn't 1 of them, but we are in pretty good shape. I believe Kash Daniel will pick Kentucky, or already has, because of the way he described his decision. But if he doesn't, that's his decision to make and live with. It amazes me how football fans trivialize these decisions as if it is really any if our business. Let Stoops take care of it.

Nothing to do with mind reading...he made the quote after he made the Bama pick public.

Maybe you should research these things before being a smartass.

It is 100% the kids decision...I don't think UK fans are upset at him for choosing another school, but for the way he did it.

Ethan Tucky just committed to BC...one of his reasons for announcing was to give the other schools that were with him in the process 7 months to look for someone else.

Daniel has said he is announcing on July 4th because he feels he doesn't need to take any other visits because his mind is made up. Harris on the other hand said his mind was made up and then postponed his decision. Just because other kids do it doesn't make it right. Kash is handling it the right way and Harris didn't.

^This. If anything, Daniel has moved the process up, whereas the other guy mentioned in this heard strung the process along after his mind was already made up.

I will be disappointed if Daniel doesn't verbal to UK, but there's no reason to have any animosity against him if he doesn't. He's going about the process the right way.

We are about to "Kash in" on a dang good player. Really like what this kid brings to the table!
