Justin Edwards 25/6/4 tonight....

I went to this game. Important to note that this was against OKC, arguably the best team in the NBA. Edwards was fantastic. He almost singlehandedly kept the Sixers in the game (they had 4 starters out and only had 8 guys available.) Had a couple of good defensive stops on SGA in addition to the scoring. Playing with a lot of confidence.

He may get a lot more playing time now since the rest of the Sixers bench is trash.

Great to hear. He has the goods. And showed some flashes last year.

It isn't about where he is as much as he is no longer wasting his time learning nothing from Cal.

You know... a year ago I would've disagreed. But i won't/can't now.
I used to think it was predominantly cuz of youth the players wouldn't reach their full potential in their one season with us. But now seeing players with 2 years under Cal at Arkansas and they're still struggling. That excuse is looking flimsier by the day.

Have to admit I’m rather shocked he’s actually filling a spot on a pro roster. I don’t keep up with the NBA at all. That kid was so lost last year, it’s amazing he found his way into the NBA.

Take a look at what Cal has done to one of the best portal players in about a third of the season. This kid is a shell of what he was before being screwed up by Cal.

Look at our boy. Always figured he'd be a better pro than college player given his skillset.

Maybe the Sixers tank and he gets significant minutes towards the end of the year.
Gotta say I’m pleasantly surprised at the overall positivity on this thread.

Schadenfreude doesn’t get you more wins.

Wishing him luck as well.

Combine that with the leap many of them made immediately after leaving Cal’s tutelage and you might be on to something.

I don't get it though.
What is his skillset???
He is not very athletic, compared to other players, not overly fast and certainly cannot jump high.
He is an ok shooter, but has a loooonnnggg slow release (which could be fixed).
He is at best ok at putting the ball on the floor.
And doesn't finish well through contact.
And he has average height for his position, nor is overly strong.

Edwards is averaging more points that Dillingham and Reed combined! I would never have thought that would be possible.
