Just Watched Highlights Of Last Years Florida Game

On Youtube

Good Lord I must have suppressed the memory of how bad special teams was last year.

And the AR 15 hype is just baffling
Our special teams have been bad for multiple years under CMS. Other than the years we had McGinnis and the Aussie punter, at least one or more phases of ST play has cost us several games that we should have won.

I am glad CMS finally got over his stubborn spell over not having "A" ST coach that focused on that 1/3 of the game of fb.

Our defense throttled AR-15. Give CMS and Coach White kudos for having them prepared to play. We seem to finally have Florida's number in FB and Basketball.

Couldn’t snap, couldn’t kick, couldn’t punt. Inexcusable to take our program as far as Stoops has the totally neglect 1/3 of the game. On top of our special teams being awful, our opponents missed one kick all year.

Spec teams were excellent when Dean Hood was on staff. Last couple yrs the results speak for themselves, big reason Settle was fired.

The big upgrade in ST coordinator might be the least talked about huge X factor for UK 2023 results. Being sound or even making explosive plays in ST will be important with us facing so many 50/50 1 score outlooks.

Barion returning kicks and Chance P knocking kickoffs into or thru the end zone were outstanding and when healthy I thought Robinson on punt returns was good. Our place kicking was really awful, mostly due to snaps or holding!

Well the article that talked about UK, GA and AL the only three teams the last few years that finished in top five categories of defense I believe? Was that the same article that said our defense does not get it done with a ton of 4 and 5 stars, is not the fastest or most athletic but just gets it done with physicality?

Especially with a playmaker like Barion sitting back there, I still can’t get over our own player tripped him at Ole Miss when he had an open TD!

As a colts fan, I fume over that pick about twice a week.
As a Colts fan I'm iffy on it. No doubt hes a great athlete and potential is off the charts...but theres no doubt he has a ton to work on to become a good NFL QB. At least he should be a very good runner and he wont be a statue like Matt Ryan was.

Potential to be a TE may be off the charts but the eye test says he’s a mediocre QB.

He's a terrible quarterback and that pill head owner set us back another 4 years at least while this dumb experiment fails.

We take recruits the same way. They might not be rated high or have any power 5 offers but we offer them because of physical attributes like 4.4 speed.

Sort of a difference in taking a flyer on a 17 year old with 4.4 speed vs. taking a flyer on a development qb with the 4th overall pick in the draft.

You mean take those guys in free agency or 4th or 5th round pick?

That would be like us taking those recruits on signing day in February

The thing is, to be a quarterback you kinda need to not be awful throwing the ball. That threat has to be there. Anthony Richardson was one of the most inconsistent and inaccurate QBs last year. He had a 25% uncatchable ball rate from clean pockets last year.

You can see the pill face 90% of the time. My brother stayed hammerd for 10 years. I know the face, guaranteed. I knew he was a pill addict when he was trading Manning. I called it out to whoever was around me. Then he got busted I think I remember reading one day. He has to be f#@$ed up to have that face, there's levels to it he gets wasted. Not sure how the NFL let's him make a dissension. Isn't there something legally that you can't make dissensions while your intoxicated, they can void them. I mean he is clearly wrecked.

I was there in the Swamp for this game. There were two huge momentum changing plays for us in the game. The first was Levis' long TD pass to Dane Key down the middle of the field, when Dane just plain beat the FL DB one on one and high pointed over the top of the defender. Perfect throw by Levis. The stadium went hush. The second play was Jordan Wright's interception of Anthony Richardson in FL's right flat. That one took all the steam out of the Gators. Great road win for us. Let's do it again.

I like Dane Key alot. You think he is better than Brown. Or does Brown feel like different level stuff. I'm not sure who is better. I think Key is gonna kill it this year. It's like they never talk about him it's always Brown this and Brown threw this pass he ran this fast he jumped over the field goal post.

An outsiders point of view is if I had to have a big yardage play at half time or end of game I would want Brown getting the ball, I believe his strength is taking the top off the defense. But if I needed a sure 20-25 yard play I would be looking to key because his route running and hands are his strength. Of course both are capable at either task, I would just want to play to their respective strengths.
