Some of y'all are piss poor excuses for fans. Pope inherited Travis Perry. That's it. He got a roster together that is good. Lost his top two point guards and teams know it. The starting 4 has the back of Larry Bird. DON'T YOU BRING YOUR ASS BACK ON HERE WHEN WE WIN THE SEC TOURNAMENT. Get a life and another hobby and live in the real world. If you're not going to support our team, go jump in a lake.

I see more “fans” on here attacking Pope now than I did the “coach” during the POS 9-16 season the big pig put together. Pretty telling. Maybe Pope
Doesn’t pan out but to judge him based off of the last couple games without the many caveats he deserves is steaming hot garbage.

I just want or see some defensive adjustments and never see the lack of effort from that first half ever again under him. That’s it. He gets a pass this year of course. But the pressure weeks up a bit next year once he’s got time to really put a team together. This is Kentucky. And he knows it better than anyone.

Well coaches that take on new jobs sometimes bring their recruits with them but Popes recruiting at BYU was so bad I believe we got lucky more players didn’t follow him to UK

I actually love this team, and I love Mark. Love them all. Hard to overcome the injuries we’ve had. Like I said in another thread, with what Mark put together so in such a short time, it’s a freaking miracle the job he did BEFORE the injuries. Love these guys.

And you’re not alone friend. This team will always be one of those special teams regardless of some bad losses. They represent the rebirth of the program at a time it was desperately needed.

I’ll guarantee you they don’t win the SEC tourney, guarantee it. Supporting your team isn’t ignoring issues because you don’t want them to be true. Blind loyalty is bad also.

Furthest thing from a bandwagon fan there is brother but get your little shot off.
Did anything in my post say “Dontworyaboutit23” or did you just feel the need to assume it for yourself since you’ve spent the last 12 hours screaming about how terrible we are nonstop for who knows what reason? Again, I ask, what are you looking to achieve?

Don't waste your time with him bro. All dude does is whine and bitch, even when things are good. He is never satisfied and has the most hypocritical screen name on this board. All he does is worry worry worry, it's comical. He and JFcats suck and are the leaders of the bitch boy brigade

Bud it’s clear you’re talking about me and JF. And again I never said terrible, they are and right now for sure, but overall they had been good up until these past 2 weeks.

You don’t get to have a fanbase that’s the largest & most passionate in the sport and also sits quietly by when the team loses 4 of 5. Nobody is calling for the guys job but he’s not above criticism just because he played here a couple decades ago.

exactly , we may not win the SEC but Pope deserves our patience, considering all the things that has happened this season

What is your intended goal? Why are you beating the dead horse? Either answer that or I’m done talking
Why am I saying that the defense is still bad and that they have been bad recently? I have eyes and can see how bad the defense is, and how bad they have played recently. Using butler being out as a crutch is still ignoring the problem. Even with butler the defense sucks. It’s clear on offense pope messed up by not getting a guy who can shot create. Teams know all they have to do now is pressure us and sit on the 3 point line. I’m by no means a fire pope guy, that’s crazy, but I think it’s fair to have some long term concerns about him right now.

Threads like this are so stupid. The team is collapsing. It's okay to be upset about it. My god
The thing is, it’s people acting like it’s the end of the world or claiming Pope can’t coach a lick or he is a moron or filling the blank. Yes, you can be upset, but at least acknowledge. We have injuries that have greatly affected the outcome of games.

In my opinion, it’s hard to be very critical because there’s only so much you can do with the current roster. The truth is, he has very little options and I’m sure he’s not telling his players to leave the opposition wide freaking open. A lot of this should fall squarely on the shoulders of the players and they are paid semi professionals who should be receiving the criticism.

Ok that’s how you feel….cool. It’s ridiculous but that’s your opinion and you’re allowed to have it. Can you quit flooding every thread with it?

and I’ve seen tremendous growth with Williams and Perry. Amari is going to end this season as an All- conference selection. Perry is getting better every game and probably should be the primary ball handler while Butler is out. He’s going to be ready to go next season.
IF we can get Lamont healthy, this team is a threat to anybody we meet in the NCAA tournament. We are lucky to have Mark Pope as head coach. Some of our fan base is just too ignorant to know this.

No high school recruits, two months portal team, SEC strongest it’s ever been top to bottom by far with great coaches, plus injuries to key players.
What coach would do better?

What coaching adjustments would you say you've seen Pope make to try and improve the defense?

All I see is the same thing on repeat.. and I get the Butler injury but we were horrible defensively when he was playing.

Just because you say we’re going to win the SECT doesn’t make it a reality and certainly doesn’t make you a better fan because you are choosing to ignore the direction this team is going.

Injuries are a huge part of the teams decline but the decline is still real.

Enough to beat Duke, Gonzaga, Florida, Mississippi State, and a few others. A single-handedly told the team that Cooper flag was going to spin and sure enough he did. He went 131 zone at times it’s been far from perfect, but I know in my heart he’s not telling his players to leave the other team wide open or not instructed them how to guard a pick and roll or jump in the attempt to block a shot
