JRob and Butler return to practice

Play them.

So many people commenting.....hold them out til the SEC tournament, or even til the NCAA tournament. Don't take a chance on reinjuring.....why play them in some of these last few games when we're already in the tournament, let them heal as long as possible......yadda yadda ya. Look, if they're healthy enough to go and are making progress, you have to throw them in the game. You can't sit our 2 best players for weeks and then expect them to just show up in the tournament and be what they were pre injuries. To coin a Cal phrase....they're not robots. Remember how many games it took Carr to get his timing, rhythm, and stride back? Yeah, each player bounces back differently, and has their own time table to get fully back. What about the rythym and pacing of the team when all our guys are back out there. It will take a bit for the team as a whole to get their flow back. You always have to be concerned when chemistry is interrupted for any amount of time. Long post to simply say, there's more to it than just holding them out til the tournament. If you're healthy enough, get them some run!

Need them more for the Tournaments than we do these last few. Hopefully that is when we have them.
Why not have them before the tournaments to work out their kinks and get back used to playing in games. I hope they man up and finish the season without going back on the injured list. My Dad said that kids aren’t as tough as they used to be back in the 50’s thru 2000.

Because if Butler falls on that shoulder again, like he did vs Tennessee. He's done for the year. I didn't think I would have to explain that.

What if he falls on his shoulder in practice, or in the first round of the SECT, or against butthole state in the firat round of the NCAAT?
What good does it do to sit him if he's cleared and surgery is the only way to get him to 100%?

Pretty simple, and I don't understand how this has to be explained. That risk is worth it for SECT/NCAAT but there isn't much upside before that.

I get it, but if the doctors cleared him, he's good to go, sitting him does no good.
Seems like he just needed to give it a couple weeks to heal.
Coach Patino shouldn’t have sat Derek Anderson in the championship game. The doctors gave him a full go and he was ready to go. We would have won that game if DA was in the game.

I can't say just play them. I nor anyone else but the medical staff and coaches know their exact medical condition. Bringing them back to early doesn't help them or the team. I'll trust the coach on this one. This guy is not his predecessor.

Screw these last four games and screw playing them in the SEC tourney. I want them for the Big Dance.

Give them another three weeks to get healthy.
Absolutely agree- go for the long game. Of what advantage is it to UK to play 5 grueling games in the SEC tournament? We need key players to recuperate in order to make a deep March run- and our record against top teams suggests that we are capable of doing just that when healthy. Pull a Popovich and make an early exit from the little tourney.

So they sit for a month, then get thrown into the fire in the tournaments?
They will be practicing all that time, they can hurt themselves in practice too, but rwally, rust is a huge factor here.

Yeah, that one still stings.
I'm not sure how effective he would have been, but it would have been nice to find out.

Okay, so it looks like I'm taking her out for bingo.
Leave her to me, I am just 2 1/2 years younger than her so, I will use the Sean Connery method of dealing with women because she should understand that. She will no longer be the typical Karen when I get through with her, but Caren about how to make my sammich.

We all know that a lot rides on that first NCAA game, whether it be Chattanooga or Arkansas State or whoever. But my guess is the kids really, really want to play every game they can right now. Pope said they "desperately" want to play. They are at the end of their college careers. NBA draft status is not a factor. Both will have surgery when the season ends and professional careers will be what they are going to be. Roll them out.

If he does fall on his shoulder it is what it is, and if you look at his fall at Tennessee he landed mostly on his elbow. I’m sure he hurt his shoulder more getting thru screens. Other teams will just hard screen him and hit his shoulder. That is what I would tell my team if I was playing against him. We have a minimum of 6 games left this season, we need him to suck it up and play. Appreciate you explaining it to me.

I'll take The Rapist for $200.

That's Therapist.

If they are medically cleared then get in there.

Can’t play careful to not get hurt.

Play or sit.
If they're cleared for tomorrow night, play them sparingly off the bench to get them back acclimated, gonna need all hands on deck Saturday. don't risk that.

They are professional athletes now, gotta play through some soreness! I don’t want injured players playing, but everyone is sore this time of year!
Saw an interview with one of the American Hockey players. He was calling out the other pro sports and athletes, mainly NBA. Said there's a difference between being hurt and being injured. he said hockey players take a beating, they're all sore and hurting. if you have a legit injury, that's one thing, if you're sore and aching or bruised but not broken, then suck it up buttercup and get your butt out there. I think Robinson and Butler obviously had legit injuries, Robinson's wrist affects his shooting, a huge part of his game, as with Butler's Shoulder. but if they have progressed to something that can be played through then tape it up and get out there.

You just have to hope she doesn’t look like Marge Simpson, or… .worse.

Yeah let’s play him in mainly meaningless games. Good call coach.

Rust isn’t a huge factor lol guys don’t forget how to play or lose a large amount of conditioning that quickly. They are still working out.

How long has it been since that Tennessee game?
Not sure, but you didn’t get close to answering my question. Has there been a medical report that said if Butler falls again, he’s out the remainder of the year? If not, then that’s simply your opinion. Doesn’t mean he’s ready to come back (I don’t follow any practice/medical reports), but also doesn’t mean your opinion is automatically correct.

Meaningless game? Is there such a thing?

Is it meaningless if we lose to Oklahoma and drop to a 4 seed?

There are no meaningless games. Oklahoma just beat MSU's ass and they were playing as well as they have all year.

We don't need anymore losses to bubble teams.
